July Events in Metro Vancouver 2021
byWe begin this month with a day to reflect on Canada’s colonial history as we strive collectively to learn from our past and do better in the future. We need to honour, respect, and show gratitude to the Indigenous peoples of this land we now all call home. We need to acknowledge the atrocities and injustices of the past and present. Below, you’ll find some actions you can take on Canada Day and beyond, along with the full July event list for Metro Vancouver including pride events, music, arts performances and much more:

- I am personally grateful to live on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nation, and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nation who have cared for and stewarded this land since time immemorial.
- Read the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s reports including the 94 Calls to Action
- Connect with your MLA and MP, see how they are contributing to reconciliation with these calls to action
- Wear orange on Canada Day to honour residential “school” survivors and those who did not survive
- Purchase a shirt from Indigenous organizations and artists, such as the Orange Shirt Day Society or Totem Design House.
