Vancouver By-Election April 5th
You are already on Vancouver’s voters list if you voted in the October 2024 BC provincial election. No need to register again but you can check your registration status online.
Candidates
13 candidates are currently in the running for two City councillor seats. The following candidates have submitted their nomination papers and are listed in alphabetical order by last name:

The ballot order for the by-election will be determined by a random draw tonight (Friday, March 7th) at 5:00pm in the Council Chamber at Vancouver City Hall and can be viewed on a live-stream.

How to Vote
Eligible Vancouver voters can cast their ballots in three ways:
- Vote on Saturday, April 5 at 25 voting locations across the city (view map)
- Vote in advance on March 26 or April 1 at Vancouver City Hall.
- Vote by mail. Request your package online here.
By-elections are a rare and important part of the democratic process. In the City of Vancouver‘s 138-year history, only 17 by-elections have been held, with the most recent in 2017.
