Own a Piece of the Science World FIFA Dome
On Tuesday, Science World began returning the iconic geodesic dome to its original state, wrapping up a memorable summer and clearing the final remnants of the FIFA World Cup 2026. Today it was announced that you can own a piece of this iconic legacy through an upcycling and fundraising initiative.

The anticipated removal timeline of 2-3 weeks as crews will remove each of the 131 panels that transformed the dome into a 360-degree, 40-metre-diameter re-creation of the adidas Trionda, the official match ball of the FIFA World Cup in Vancouver.

Selected panels will be donated as a legacy initiative to local organizations including Science World, BC Place, the BC Soccer Association, Canada Soccer, the Province of British Columbia, the Museum of Vancouver and Destination Vancouver.
The remaining panels will be transformed through a unique upcycling program into The Beautiful Dome 2026 Collection, a limited collection of consumer goods that includes large patio umbrellas, duffle bags and shopping totes. Made from sections of the original Trionda artwork, each item will carry a distinct part of the design, making every piece a unique limited edition.
The Collection will be available exclusively through Science World’s online store starting today.
The panels donated to local organizations will recognize the installation’s connections to the tournament, the city and the lasting legacy of hosting the FIFA World Cup 2026 in British Columbia. The consumer collection gives members of the public an opportunity to own a unique piece of the installation through objects that give it a purposeful second life.
100% of net proceeds will support Science World’s STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and design, and math) initiatives to build future-ready talent and engage young learners throughout British Columbia.
“The Beautiful Dome changed the way people saw Science World this summer, not only as a landmark, but as a canvas for science, sport and imagination,” said Brian Radburn, Interim President & CEO of Science World. “By preserving some of the panels and transforming others into useful new objects, we are extending the story of this extraordinary project.”
Unveiled in early June, The Beautiful Dome quickly became an iconic image of the tournament and provided a distinctive backdrop for broadcast coverage, digital storytelling, visitor experiences, as well as endless selfies and social media content, connecting Vancouver and British Columbia to audiences around the world throughout the tournament.

The Look Company, which oversaw the original installation, has worked on the product concepts to retain the colour, scale and graphic character of the Trionda design.
“Temporary should not have to mean disposable,” said Jacob Burke, Global CEO of The Look Company. “The same precision that went into fitting 131 unique panels to the dome is now going into carefully removing, cleaning, sorting, and reimagining the material. Each cut captures a different part of the artwork, giving the panels a new purpose and ensuring every finished piece tells its own version of the story.”
