Dicky’s Dumps & Rosie’s BBQ Chinese New Year Collab

  • Details: Dicky’s Dumps and Rosie’s BBQ are coming together for their first-ever collaboration with special dishes pairing Chinese dumplings and Texas BBQ together to welcome and celebrate the Year of the Dragon. The Crispy Dumplings & Brisket, Brisket & Dumplings Ramen and Brisket & Dumplings Noodle Plate combine Dicky’s Dumps handmade dumplings with Rosie’s brisket for a celebration-worthy feast – honoring both restaurant’s specialties.
    • Where/When: The collaboration will pop up on three Saturdays during the Lunar New Year season: February 3rd at Batch Vancouver, February 10th & 11th at Dalina on Main, and on February 17th at Parkside Brewery in Port Moody.

Beaucoup Bakery Year of the Dragon Collection

  • Where: Beaucoup Bakery (2150 Fir St., Vancouver and 600 Dunsmuir St., Vancouver)
  • When: Available from January 27th to February 11th, 2024
  • Details: Vancouver’s Parisian-inspired cafe, Beaucoup Bakery, is offering special Year of the Dragon collection items available for preorder online. Beaucoup Bakery is also once again collaborating with Chinatown BBQ on a special savoury Lunar New Year croissant as part of Taste of Chinatown this year.
    • The Year of the Dragon Collection features:
      • Sesame Tang Yuan Cruffin ($7.88) with a black sesame pastry cream, mochi and Beaucoup Bakery’s butter croissant pastry.
      • Osmanthus Peach Tiramisu (large $38 pre-order only, individual $9) includes osmanthus flower infused lady-fingers and mascarpone custard, peaches and goji osmanthus jelly.
      • Dragon Cookie Box ($38 for 18 pieces) with peanut crunchy rice shortbread, red bean sesame cookies and salted egg yolk pineapple thumbprint.
      • Year of the Dragon Golden Gift Box ($68), which includes one Dragon Cookie Box, peanut puff pastry sticks, mango cashew peanut crunch milk chocolate bar and sesame butter financiers.

Scotiabank Feast of Fortune Charity Gala 2024

  • Where: JW Marriott Parq Vancouver (39 Smithe St., Vancouver)
  • When: February 24th at 5:30pm
  • Details: The Chinese Restaurant Awards is once again participating in the prestigious St. Paul’s Foundation’s Scotiabank Feast of Fortune Charity Gala. The chef lineup will take the stage during the gala reception, contributing to St. Paul’s Foundation’s vital fundraising initiatives for advancing medical research at the new St. Paul’s Clinical Support and Research Centre on the Jim Pattison Medical Campus. Since 2008, donors to Scotiabank Feast of Fortune have raised over $12.2 million to support initiatives like life-saving diagnostic tools, surgical equipment and impactful research studies. Tacofino to Launch New Breakfast Menu at Four Locations

  • Where: Participating Tacofino locations
  • When: Ongoing now!
  • Details: As of January, Tacofino Kits, Hastings, Oasis and Squamish is now offering a new 13-item breakfast menu from 8:00am daily. The menu includes unique tacos, burritos, appetizers and coffees. The all-new menu includes four appies, highlighted by the Loaded Breakfast Tots, three new tacos including a Chorizo and Egg Taco and a Potato and Egg Taco, as well three burrito options. Plant-based options include the Vegan Scramble Taco and the Vegan Scramble Burrito. Additionally, Tacofino has now partnered with Moja Coffee. Find a location and menu near you!

Love + Chocolate Specialties by Mon Paris

  • Where: Mon Paris Patisserie (4396 Beresford St., Burnaby)
  • When: Started February 1st, 2024
  • Details: Mon Paris pastry chef and owner, Elena Krasnova, presents a heartwarming collection of chocolate creations and cakes, available for pre-order February 1. In addition to her chocolate bonbons, macarons and decadent cakes, Elena has reintroduced gal-pal favourites—the chocolate High-Heel Shoe and Louis Vuitton Bag—along with new edible gifts. From the heart-shaped cakes to the artistry of ‘Potted Roses’ crafted entirely from chocolate and the ‘Bee Mine’ chocolate characters, Mon Paris continues to embrace luxury and thoughtfully designed treats, perfect for a Valentine’s Gift.

Sweetheart’s Soiree Valentine’s Event at Stanley Park Pavilion

  • When: February 14th, 2024 6:30pm – 9:30pm
  • Details: Stanley Park Pavilion is putting on a romantic Valentine’s soiree in the park for you and your partner. Reserve a spot for cocktail reception and an extensive three-course dinner (various wine options available, as well). WA-BAGEL’s Love Bagel

  • Details: WA-BAGEL (666 Burrard Street)
  • Where/When: Vancouver’s first-ever Japanese-style bagel shop is hoping to set hearts a flutter this month with two new seasonal flavours and a special, limited-edition heart-shaped bagel. The Love Bagel ($3 each) measures five-inches and features WA-BAGEL’s plain dough twisted into a heart-shape, then topped with crystal sugar, creating a crunchy texture with a touch of sweetness. It is available from February 7 to 9, 2024 and February 12 to 14, 2024. There will be a limited amount made daily for walk-in guests. On February 14, 2024, customers are invited to send a Valentine’s Day bagel gram via UberEats.

  • Details: Check out the full lineup of participating locations on the Hot Chocolate Fest’s website! Worth marking in your calendar and checking back on their Instagram for hot chocolate inspo creations, locations and the charities the festival is partnering with.
