Terracotta Warriors Vancouver

Terracotta Warriors can now be found around Vancouver thanks to the BC Lions Society. This is similar to the society’s previous projects such as Bears in the City, Orcas in the City, and Eagles in the City.

The idea is to have a local artist jazz up each one of the uniform 7-foot tall statues, adding their own flare and telling a story through the paint. The statues are then placed in prominent public places, in front of businesses and landmarks.

The Terracotta Warriors were supposed to hit the streets of Vancouver about two years ago but the project was bumped to 2012.

The statues will all be auctioned off at the Great Banquet on September 27th, with proceeds benefitting Easter Seals Services. You can find a list of all the locations online.

They seem like they’d be so out of place, but that’s almost why they’re such a great idea.

Love this! Stumbled onto the warrior on Granville and Broadway the other day.
