Canada Day Events Around Vancouver 2026

Many communities around Metro Vancouver are celebrating Canada Day in their own way on July 1st, including concerts, fireworks, and more. If you’re looking for affordable, family-friendly events, activities, we’ve got you covered all around Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.

Decolinization Events

  • Sisters Sage is hosting the Unsettled Market featuring an array of Indigenous artisans, makers, and products from 10:00am to 6:00pm at 1313 Kingsway, Vancouver.
  • Decolonial Clothing is hosting the Cancel Canada Day Pop-Up at 269 E Georgia, Vancouver from 12:00pm to 3:00pm.

Canada Day Fireworks

You’ll find Canada Day fireworks in Burnaby, Coquitlam, Delta, White Rock, Abbotsford, and Port Coquitlam. New Westminster will have a drone show.

Vancouver

Canada Together at Canada Place (11:00am to 6:00pm) is a family-friendly celebration with food, activities, an Indigenous Marketplace, and storytelling with a diverse musical lineup including headliners The Strumbellas plus DJ O Show, The Matinee and more all along the waterfront downtown. Miss604 is a sponsor.

At O Canada Day! on Granville Island don’t miss the False Creek Ferries annual Water Ballet at 8:30am then join festivities in the Watch Party zone, hosted by Khelsilem Tl’aḵwasiḵ̓an Sxwchálten  & Zara Durrani. There will be speeches and a giant cake cutting (baked by Granville Island Hotel’s pastry chef). Island wide décor and programming include live music, free Vancouver International Jazz Festival performances, live artisan displays, a lobster boil, and merchant activities with Canada flags for everyone. There will be free facepainting on site and the Waterpark will be open, with the Kids Market offering special programming all day.

The Rio Theatre hosts the Canada Day NFB Animation Jamboree at 3:30pm. Academy Award winning animator and Vancouver resident David Fine introduces some of his favourite National Film Board animated short films, many of them Academy Award winners or nominees, and all of them unique and personal visions. David will explain why he loves these singular films and how they influenced his own career.

The Vancouver Canadians play the Eugene Emeralds at the ‘Nat followed by fireworks.

The Kitsilano Showboat will have kids activities, face painting, and kids activities right by the beach in Kits from 2:30pm to 9:00pm.

Burnaby

Burnaby Canada Day StreetFest (6:30pm to 10:30pm) features food trucks, activities, and live musical performances from headliners Dragonette and a fireworks finale at 10:15pm.

Canada Day at Burnaby Village Museum (11:00am to 4:30pm) offers multicultural family entertainment, live musical performances, displays, face painting, games, demonstrations, activities, and more.

Canada Day at Edmonds Plaza and Park in Burnaby (11:00am to 2:30pm) is a celebration with live entertainment, family-friendly activities, games, cake, and more. 

Tri-Cities

Canada Day in Coquitlam at Town Centre Park (12:30pm to 10:30pm) features a large lineup of multicultural musical and dance performances, food trucks, entertainment, and a fireworks display at 10:00pm.

Port Moody celebrations will be at Rocky Point Park from 12:00pm to 5:00pm. The City is hosting an afternoon of live music and free, family-friendly activities.

Port Coquitlam Canada Day features celebrations at Castle Park (1:00pm to dusk) with free family-friendly activities, live entertainment (headlined by April Wine), food vendors, a beverage garden, market vendors and a grand finale fireworks display after dark. There are also Fountain Shows in Leigh Square (7:00pm & 9:30pm) and a Pancake Breakfast at Port Coquitlam Community Centre (8:30am to 11:30am).

New Westminster, Richmond, Delta

Canada Day in Delta is at Chalmers Park (4:00pm to 10:00pm) with big fun, big games, big entertainment, and of course, big cake! This free family-friendly and inclusive event has live music, dance, cultural performances, food vendors, and more. North Delta Lions, who will be serving their famous hamburgers, hot dogs, and fries. Fireworks at 10:00pm.

Celebrate Canada Day at Queen’s Park in New Westminster (2:00pm tom 10:00pm) with entertainment and community spirit. From live music and performances to delicious eats from local food trucks, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Explore family-friendly activities, relax in the beer garden, and connect with friends and neighbours throughout the day. As the sun sets, look to the sky above the Stadium for a spectacular drone show to close out the celebration. Best viewing will be from the grass.

Steveston Canada Day Salmon Festival invites everyone to celebrate Canada’s birthday with a show-stopping parade, live music, family activities, and more. Foodies will also be able to enjoy the iconic Salmon Bake and check out the full lineup of performers across three main stages, including headliner Barney Bentall and the Legendary Hearts.

Surrey & White Rock

Canada Day by the Bay at White Rock is a free, all-day event (12:00pm to 10:30pm) featuring live music performances, a kids zone, a vendors market, and fireworks finale at 10:15pm.

Surrey Canada Day at the Bill Reid Amphitheatre (10:00am to 10:30pm) includes family entertainment, Indigenous programming, a beer garden and food trucks, amusement rides, and a fireworks show.

North Shore & Sea to Sky

Canada Day in West Vancouver at John Lawson Park (4:00pm to 9:00pm) brings the community together with fun activities, food vendors, and live music by Dr. Strangelove.

Canada Day at The Shipyards (11:00am to 5:00pm) features a lineup of activities, performances, community exhibits, splash park, and more.

Canada Day BBQ at Cypress (12:00pm to 4:00pm) head up to Cypress Mountain’s 3 Peaks Patio for an afternoon packed with a live band, a sizzling BBQ, and plenty of fun with family and friends.

Grouse Mountain Canada Day (tickets required) head up to the Peak of Vancouver from 9:00am to 9:00pm for a full day of mountaintop fun including live music inside the chalet, a Canada Day scavenger hunt, and our daily favourites like the Lumberjack Show, Ranger Talks, Birds in Motion demonstrations, Beavertails and more. You can also catch the soccer matches of the day at 1:00pm and 5:00pm streamed live in the Theatre in the Sky and Altitudes Bistro.

Celebrate Canada Day at Britannia Mine Museum (tickets required) with live music, family-friendly activities, and hands-on fun around historic Mill No. 3. This year’s celebration features live performances by Riverbank Roses, classic lawn games and activities. Guests are also invited to explore the newest summer exhibit, Giants at Work: Big Jobs, Bigger Machines, featuring the massive Cat® 793C Mining Truck, interactive experiences, and hands-on exploration focused on the scale and engineering of modern mining.

Sk̲wx̲wú7mesh Squamish Together (10:00am to 6:00pm) at Junction Park and O’Siyum Pavillion is a celebration of community, remembering our past, honouring our traditional lands, and aiming towards a brighter future together through music, art, food and beverages, and crafting from many community groups and cultures.

Fraser Valley

Canada Day in Langley at McLeod Athletic Park is an all-day celebration (12:00pm to 10:30pm) with circus performances, a Kids Zone with bouncy castles, games, and face painting, food trucks, local breweries and artisans, performances from Wild Mocassin Dancers and more with fireworks at 10:15pm.

Catch the Canada Day Parade along South Fraser Way in Abbotsford starting at 11:00am then the festival at Abbotsford Exhibition Park at 1:00pm will have family-friendly activities, a marketplace, food trucks, and live entertainment. There will be a fireworks finale show at 10:00pm.

Fort Langley National Historic Site Canada Day celebrates Canada’s 159th birthday with live music, dance, demonstrations, and fun activities all day (10:00am to 4:00pm) as attendees travel back in time to learn about the many cultures that helped make Canada what it is today. The Canada Strong Pass is back: Enjoy free admission and 25% off camping and overnight stays with Parks Canada from June 19 to September 7, 2026.
