Post #35 of #49 – Over the next 24 hours I will be raising funds for the Union Gospel Mission during Blogathon 2009 by writing a blog post every 30 minutes. Please consider donating to my cause to keep my going until 6am PT July 26th.

The following guest post has been contributed by by Jane Victoria King.

Mum always used to say, “Everything happens for a reason, you won’t realize it now, you will later.”

Hard to take when you’re down and out. When something has gone wrong. When you can’t for the life of you figure out why. And the only thoughts that come to mind are “WHY ME?” Along with the emotion anger, maybe depression, and possibly dismay.

So when it comes time to come to terms, so to speak… on the why, and the not understanding today, well – mum’s words resonate. “Everything happens for a reason, you won’t realize it now, but you will later.”

It’s a matter I have come to understand, of looking forward to the future.

I once heard a saying, “The past is old and dead, the future is yet unborn, the only time is now.”

True enough. But in order to get past the day and understand the now, sometimes you have to think about the future.

In all likelihood… a down and out day or happening in your life, could call out for some kind of support. Whether it’s family support, personal support or support for your mental or physical well-being.

A number of charities are out there for everyone, 365 days of the year. Today, more then ever they need your help. Think about today, and plan for tomorrow. Make the future bright for everyone and consider a donation now to one of Blogathon 2009’s worthwhile charities.

We could all use our shades!
