Join the Bill Reid Gallery, the only public gallery in Canada dedicated to Indigenous Northwest Coast Art, for Let’s Hear It for 2-Spirit, an all-ages celebration with drag performances, music, and refreshments.

Let’s Hear It for 2-Spirit at Bill Reid Gallery

  • Date: Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm
  • Location: 639 Hornby St, Vancouver
  • Admission: Purchase tickets online. $40 Regular Admission; $35 Gallery Members and Indigenous Peoples

The evening will feature performances from:

  • Ella Lamoureux (Call Me Mother Season 1 – Kaska Dena First Nation)
  • Ilona Verley (Canada’s Drag Race season  1- Nlaka’pamux Nation)  
  • Jaylene Tyme (Zagime Anishinabek First Nation, Kawacatoose First Nation and Mètis Nation Saskatchewan )
  • Theo Rhetical (Peepeekisis Cree and Métis ancestry)
  • Thanks Jem (Deninu K’ue First Nation)
  • and music from Orene Askew, known as DJ O Show, who is an Afro-Indigenous member of the Squamish Nation, inspirational speaker, educator, and award-winning DJ. 

Community-Based Research Centre – CBRC will be onsite with zines, educational materials, and resources about 2-Spirit identities, with a staff member available to connect with visitors and answer questions.

The Bill Reid Gallery is a unique destination in the heart of downtown Vancouver that celebrates the extraordinary diversity of contemporary Indigenous Northwest Coast Art.
