Vancouver Fringe Festival 2025
The 41st annual Vancouver Fringe Festival is on September 4 to 14, 2025 featuring 87 shows of theatre, dance, comedy, drag, and more! This year’s festival is bigger than every and has something for the whole family.

The Vancouver Fringe Theatre Society has announced the programming for the 41st annual Vancouver Fringe Festival, running from September 4 to 14, 2025. This year’s Fringe features 87 shows with more than 668 performances at 19 venues across Granville Island and Gastown. Attendees can also enjoy nightly free music and all-ages entertainment at the Fringe Bar, located at Ocean Artworks Pavilion on Granville Island, as well as free programming as part of Kids Fringe.

Kids Fringe
September 6 and 7 | Picnic Pavilion (1412 Cartwright St, Granville Island)
New this year, Kids Fringe (for children aged 4 to 12) features two days of free outdoor programming. Programming begins at 10:00am and includes kid-friendly performances from Fringe artists, puppet and flamenco workshops, activities supported by Arts Umbrella, and a Kids Craft Fair provided by the Kids Market. An adult must accompany children, and only adults with children are permitted to enter the Kids Fringe site.
All-Ages Fringe Bar
Ocean Artworks (15311 Johnston St, Granville Island)
All are invited to visit the all-ages Fringe Bar, open from 5:00pm to late on weekdays and 3:00pm to late on weekends throughout the festival! The Fringe Bar includes a licensed bar, food trucks, nightly music, DJs, and performances like Balkan Shmalkan (September 5), Mx. Fringe 2025 Drag Pageant (September 9), and Asian Persuasion All Stars (September 13).
Special Events at Performance Works
September 7, 4, and 13 | Performance Works (1218 Cartwright St, Granville Island)
This years Fringe Festival features 3 special events at Performance Works. On September 7, catch Fringe Teaser for 30 Fringe shows packed into one night! The Vancouver International Burlesque Festival presents Platinum Promenade on September 4 (must be 18 to attend) and Calamity Cabaret on September 13 features your favourite flashlight cabaret reimagined by Holly M. Brinkman (must be 18 to attend).
Stand Up Comedy
Little Mountain Gallery (110 Water St, Gastown)
New this year, Little Mountain Gallery is hosting a mix of stand-up, improv, and sketch comedy throughout the festival, featuring individual performers and a comedy variety showcase with different shows every night of Fringe Festival.
About the Vancouver Fringe Festival:
The Vancouver Fringe Theatre Society, founded in 1983 by local artists, launched its first festival in 1985. Now held annually each September, the Vancouver Fringe Festival showcases independent and emerging performing artists as part of the North American Fringe circuit. Since 2001, it has operated on and around Granville Island, featuring 11 days of performances for 12,000 attendees and supported by over 350 volunteers. Committed to accessibility and diversity, the festival fosters community, creativity, and a shared love of live performance.
