Openings

New Cocktail Bar, Prophecy, Beneath Historic Rosewood Hotel Georgia

  • When: Spring 2024
  • Where: 801 W Georgia St., Vancouver
  • Details: A new trendy cocktail bar, Prophecy, – opening later this spring – is opening as Vancouver’s newest historic cocktail destination. Beneath the Rosewood Hotel Georgia, Prophecy will combine vintage charm and cutting-edge mixology in a space known for it’s history. The space is ready to begin its next chapter in the hands of owner-operators, At Home Hospitality. New Indigenous Restaurant at Fort Langley

  • When: Now Open
  • Where: 23433 Mavis Ave., Fort Lagnley
  • Details: Drop by Tradish’s The Ancestor Cafe for some ”tradishional” nourishment for both urban Indigenous and non-Indigenous health-conscious diets. Try some of their savoury menu items such as their Bison or Elk Bannock Tacos or sweet cookies and teas infused with plant medicine. The Ancestor Cafe is located inside the Fort Langley National Historic Site. Admission fees for the site apply, there is no fee for Indigenous Peoples.

Mister Artisan Ice Cream to open Robson Street Location

  • When: Now Open
  • Where: 1193 Robson St., Vancouver
  • Details: The popular dessert bar popular among sweet-toothed foodies, Mister, has opened a third location. Mister is known for their signature creamy liquid nitrogen ice cream, which is available in creative and flavours that change with the seasons. They are made-to-order for each customer with pure, natural ingredients that are rapidly chilled in a cloud of liquid nitrogen mist. Check out their menu of unique scoops or sammies, with vegan options available. Mister Artisan Ice Cream Robson Street will be open daily from 2:00 to 10:00pm.

New Flavours

Dumpling Fest Vancouver

  • When: April 10th, 2024
  • Where: Various restaurants across the Vancouver metro area
  • Details: The Vancouver Foodster Dumpling Fest is back! Experience different restaurants and tastes that may include Chinese dumplings, to Italian gnocchi, Nepalese momos to Korean mandu, Japanese gyoza and more. The next evening tasting extravaganza is on Wednesday April 10 from 6pm until 10pm and is presented by Vancouver Foodster and Tasting Plates.
    • Participating Restaurants include: Maizal, Chic Chic Chicken, Crab Hot Lau and Jamila’s Afghan Cuisine.

Miku Restaurant Celebrates Cherry Blossom Season with New Sakura Kaiseki

  • When: March 29th to April 14th, 2024
  • Where: 200 Granville St. #70, Vancouver
  • Details: Miku, Canada’s Michelin Guide-recommended contemporary Japanese restaurant, is inviting guests to join them in celebrating sakura season with a new Sakura Kaiseki, available for a limited-time from March 29th to April 14, 2024. Created by head chef Martin Simicek and pastry chef Isabelle Valencia, the multi-course menu features a variety of flavours inspired by the annual flowering of cherry blossom trees. The menu also includes seasonal cocktails available during this time. Reservations can be made online or via phone at 604-568-3900. Check out more of their menu here.

Cherry Blossom Season at the Fairmont Hotel

  • When: March 1st through May 26th, 2024
  • Where: 900 West Georgia St., Vancouver
  • Details: Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is celebrating the arrival of Cherry Blossom season. They are open for their infamous ‘Cherry Blossom Afternoon Tea’ – an afternoon tea experience at Notch8 inside Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. Enjoy savoury fare, scones, and sweets made by the in-house pastry shop. Then, have the chance check out the residency of New York City artist Meredith Wing of Moomooi to honor Cherry Blossom season at the Fairmont. Fairmont Pacific Rim Welcomes NYC’s Lysée for Dessert Collaboration

  • When: April 11th, 2024
  • Where: 1038 Canada Pl., Vancouver
  • Details: On April 11, 2024, Fairmont Pacific Rim and Executive Pastry Chef Kate Siegel will welcome New York City’s acclaimed Lysée pastry boutique by James Beard and owner Eunji Lee for a unique dessert tasting menu experience at Botanist. The six-course, sweet and savoury dessert menu will include three dishes prepared by each chef. This collaboration will mark the first of its kind for Chef Eunji and Chef Siegel. The six-course tasting menu is now open for reservations beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are available and can be reserved online.   • Details: Rice Cake Master Richmond is celebrating its 3rd birthday on April 21, 2024, and is inviting all mochi and rice cake lovers to join the month-long celebration. Throughout April, both Rice Cake Master Richmond and Rice Cake Master Burnaby will be offering fantastic deals. Rice Cake Master has become a beloved spot for hand-crafted rice flour-based pastries and sweet treats, featuring a range of classic and trendy Asian flavours. The sales this month are:
    • Visit either the Richmond or Burnaby location from April 1st – 14th and enjoy a 15% discount on purchases of $20 or more.

Chambar Celebrates 20 Years of “Civilized Debauchery”

  • When: April 2nd to 17th, 2024
  • Where: 568 Beatty St., Vancouver
  • Details: From disruptor to award-winning institution, Chambar (the iconic Vancouver restaurant) has been making history in Vancouver’s hospitality scene since the day it opened in 2004. Their niche is “fine food without pretension” and “civilized debauchery”. Twenty years later, it is still one of the city’s most popular and important restaurants. To celebrate the two-decade milestone, co-founders Nico Schuermans and Karri Green-Schuermans will be offering a nostalgia menu showcasing some of the inaugural menu items, all at 2004 pricing, $45 per person. The Greek by Anatoli to Celebrate 40 Great Years

  • When: April 19th, 2024
  • Where: Yaletown, Gastown, North Van & Broadway locations
  • Details: The Greek by Anatoli, formerly Anatoli Souvlaki, is a Vancouver favourite family establishment. They opened their doors in the spring of 1984, as a Mediterranean restaurant owned by Helen Babalos and Thomas Makris. Now rebranded, and still a family favourite spot, the restaurant is owned by Helen and Thomas’s sons, Iani and Alexi. On Friday, April 19th, The Greek by Anatoli will celebrate its 40th anniversary by offering 1984 prices on popular dishes all day–Humous for $5.50, Kotopita for $8.50, Souvlaki Dinners for $14.50 and more. They will open their doors from 11:30am to 11:00pm on Friday, April 19th and reservations will be accepted all day. Visit their website for menus and reservations for all four locations.
