On Saturday evening, the Parq Vancouver room was filled with love and inspiration as the 14th annual Gift of Time Gala raised over $1.5 million for Canuck Place families!

“Consider that you have one life to love, and live that life with intention”
~ CEO Margaret McNeil

800 guests gathered to support Canuck Place, through live and silent auctions, raffles, fund-a-need donations and more. The Parq’s ballroom was beautifully decorated, with shimmering sequins, pillar candles, and rustic floral centrepieces on the tables. Between courses at dinner, speakers addressed the crowd.

The first was gala co-chairs Karley Rice, Merideth Schutter, and Shanni Eckford:

Canuck Place CEO Margaret McNeil also spoke, Goh Ballet and The Showstoppers performed, and Canuck Place mom Cherie Ehlert shared her story later in the evening.

Cherie’s daughter, Charlie-Anne, has spinal muscular atrophy and has been a part of the Canuck Place family from a young age. Cherie’s powerful speech was a defining moment during the event and reminded everyone of why it’s so important to support Canuck Place families.

When the final auction item was sold and the raffle prizes handed out, $1.5 million was raised so that Canuck Place can continue to serve families in BC. Canuck Place delivers care to over 728 newborns, teens and families across the province and through two locations: Vancouver and Abbotsford. Dedicated, professional staff and over 275 volunteers provide a vital lifeline for children and families in their greatest time of need.
