    I would say my favorite character is Marius Pontmercy. There’s actually a very hilarious passage from the book where, when he found out that Cosette is leaving for England, he just bashes his head on a tree for two hours while Cosette cries beside him. He’s representative of an optimistic future where love thrives, but when he launches into Empty Chairs at Empty Tables? Chills.
