5 Reasons to go to Surrey Canada Day
byBorn and raised in Surrey, and having been the first blogger to ever write about my beloved hometown (back in 2004), I am proud to once again sponsor the FREE Surrey Canada Day. Happening on July 1st at the Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre (176 Street and 64th Avenue) in Cloverdale, festivities will kick off at 10:00am and they won’t stop until the fireworks light up the night sky at 10:15pm. If you were thinking about visiting Western Canada’s largest Canada Day celebration, here are 5 reasons to help you make the decision to join us out in Surrey:

Family Activities
Have fun in the Sports Zone, at Surrey Libraries’ Storyville, on Shooting Stars Amusement Rides, and more. Local organizations, non-profits, businesses, and community partners will have tents setup with activities, giveaways, and information. Not only can you get to know your neighbours, you can engage with these exhibitors and learn more about your community while you’re out and about having fun.
Food Trucks
Burgers, wraps, cotton candy, kettle corn, smoothies, and much more is served up throughout the day. You can bring cash but there are ATMs on site and some food trucks may accept debit. Whether you enjoy grilled meats, a sugary treat, or a full serving of vegetables, there will be something for you at Surrey Canada Day.
Fireworks
The free Fireworks Spectacular will follow the mainstage concerts at 10:15pm.
Free Cupcakes
Arrive in time for the official kick-off with Mayor and Council at 1:30pm as it’s tradition to follow this up with a massive cupcake giveaway.
Surrey’s 2015 Canada Day Celebration will take place Wednesday, July 1st at the Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre, 176 Street and 64th Avenue in Cloverdale.
