Caribbean Sunrise

Comments 7 by Rebecca Bollwitt

After so many sunsets with John on the West coast, we enjoyed our first Carribean sunrise together this morning (and I’m not referring to the drink). We went on a mini photowalk down to the beach to capture this breathtaking sight and we’ll be back again later today to enjoy some of that sun, surf, and sand.

The resort is absolutely wonderful, even though we’ve only seen about 20% of the entire property so far. I’ll be exploring later today and look forward to trying out more of their cuisine (and perhaps a drink from the swim-up bar in the pool).

Since I couldn’t decide which sunrise photos to post (of the 9 I have uploaded) you can view the rest of my photos on Flickr and John has a set up as well.

Isn’t it just amazing there? The ocean, the white sand, palm trees?

I loved it and would go back in a heart beat!

Be careful with your camera though, I still have 1 grain of Dominican white sand behind my LCD screen on my little compact digicam. Such fine sand!

If you guys go on an excursion the Outback Safari was fun as was the Marinarium.

The Outback Safari company have great staff that are funny/knowledgeable etc and being able to tour a bit further inland is pretty cool.

The Mariarium is more of a party boat with some snorkeling before they bust out the Cocoloco’s 😉

Aw – lucky! The white sand beaches are amazing. Hope you’re getting enough time to just relax and enjoy it!

I think next time you should take your Mother!

@ Tyler yeah Duane had a problem with a camera + Dominican humidity a while back so I’m being careful. I’ll bring it out in the mornings (to the beach) but in the afternoons I’m just rolling with a Flip instead.

PS – those party boats look crazy 😉

I agree with Mom604, and maybe your Mom and Dad-in-Law as well next time, but I think the humidity would be a bit much for me. I am loving the low humidity summer we are having. Too bad you can’t stay an extra day to just enjoy the place.

    P.S.
I love the picture of your toes!

[…] Our trip to Punta Cana was a working holiday (as John was on the clock) but having just that slice of Caribbean heaven for 4 days and 3 nights was enough to make me want to return, and constantly pine for that white sand between my toes. […]
