This annual event supports DFS Vancouver’s work to empower women and gender-diverse individuals into sustainable employment, financial independence, and personal success.

Vancouver Indigenous Fashion Week (VIFW) is back this November, empowering Indigenous designers, artisans, and youth, as it solidifies its place as a landmark event on the global fashion calendar. Designed by and for Indigenous People, VIFW warmly invites the wider community to celebrate alongside them.

“This event is open to everyone who believes in the power of art, culture, and community to transform. As we grow, our commitment remains clear: VIFW is a celebration of Indigenous beauty, resilience, and creative brilliance,” said Joleen Mitton, founder and producer of VIFW. “This event is much more than a showcase of incredible fashion. It’s a gathering of culture, community, and future-building, where Indigenous voices lead and the world is invited to witness.”
All Souls at Mountain View Cemetery, now in its 20th year, invites people of all ages to remember their ancestors, family and friends who have passed away. Participants can write messages, light candles and place personal memorials on shrines. All are welcome to attend, even if their loved ones are not buried at the cemetery.

The shrines will be kept lit throughout the memorial period during which the cemetery’s contemplative atmosphere will be enhanced with ambient live music in the evenings and weekend afternoons.
