It’s always fun to see events happening in Stanley Park and this one is unique for Vancouver! The Great Outdoors Comedy Festival will be taking place September 15-16, 2023 around Brockton Oval in Stanley Park with headliners Russell Peters and Kevin Hart, along with a lineup of friends who will join them each night.

Great Outdoors Comedy Festival in Stanley Park

  • When: Friday, September 15 & Saturday, September 16, 2023
    • Doors at 5:30 (VIP) / 6:30 (GA) / Show at 7:45pm
  • Where: Stanley Park (Brockton Oval area)
  • Tickets: VIP is SOLD OUT, General Admission Tier 3 is still available for each day from $79-$99. This event is no minors (19+ only) and is a go rain or shine.

A portion of the festival proceeds will support Talaysay Tours: Authentic Indigenous Cultural & Eco Experiences, with 50/50 raffle proceeds in support of the Stanley Park Ecology Society.

No Phone Policy

Kevin Hart’s performance on September 16th will be a phone-free experience. Use of phones, smart watches and accessories will not be permitted on the festival grounds during that time. Upon arrival at the event you will be given a Yondr pouch. Read more here.

Traffic Change Notice from the Vancouver Park Board

From Monday, September 11 to Tuesday, September 19 the Totem Pole parking lot will be closed to the public, for use as a production area. Tour bus and accessible parking will be available on Stanley Park Drive.

Organizers have hosted events in Edmonton, Calgary, and Halifax this year and say their mission is: “to create an inclusive and safe experience that celebrates and features all forms of performance comedy, from locals to superstars. All while celebrating and supporting the communities and beautiful parks we visit.”

MONZO Burger Opens Downtown Vancouver

  • Where: 1401 Granville St, Vancouver
  • When: Opens September 9, 2023
  • Details: MONZO Burger, a spin on the word “manzo” (Italian for ‘beef’), is a modern, creative and upscale fast food restaurant and bar opening September 9th downtown Vancouver. The concept takes inspiration from the energy of Milan’s ‘Paninari’ youth movement, delivering an experience where food, fashion and culture intersect.
  • Guests can expect a fun 90’s throwback experience, custom cocktails, beer and wine, fresh burgers and Milanese-style chicken sandwiches, in addition to gluten-free and vegetarian options, as well.
  • This Friday, September 1 beginning at 11:30am – ahead of the grand opening – the public is invited to a Burger Giveaway Day, where the first 1,000 customers can enjoy complimentary cheeseburgers, available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Also, to celebrate the official opening day, on Saturday, September 9 beginning at 11am, MONZO will be giving away free cheeseburgers to the first 100 customers.

Canuck Place Fall 50/50 Raffle

Tickets are now available for the Canuck Place Fall 50/50, presented by RE/MAX Agents of the Lower Mainland, to support Canuck Place children and families.

Canuck Place Children’s Hospice is British Columbia and Yukon’s pediatric palliative care provider. Over 871 children living with life-threatening illnesses and families from five provincial health regions receive Canuck Place inpatient and community-based care (in home/in hospital).

  • Tickets: Buy online for 3 for $5, 7 for $10, 50 for $20 or 150 for $50
  • Anticipated Prize: $500,000 to be split with the winner
  • Ticket Sales Close: Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at 11:59pm
  • Draw Date:  Friday, October 6, 2023 at 11:00am PDT

Since launching in Fall 2020, the Canuck Place 50/50 has raised $3,074,970! Half has gone to the lucky winners, and half goes to support exceptional care in Canuck Place hospices in Vancouver and Abbotsford, and community-based care in-home and in-hospital across BC and the Yukon.

Canuck Place operates 13 patient beds and 8 family suites through two hospices in Vancouver and Abbotsford. Services include in-hospice medical respite and family support, pain and symptom management, provincial 24-Hour Clinical Care Line, music and recreation therapy, education and art, grief, loss, and bereavement counselling, as well as end-of-life care.
