Over $1.37 Million Raised to Provide Care for Canuck Place Children and Families
The 21st Annual Gift of Time Gala presented by Nicola Wealth raised over $1.37 million on Saturday night during an unforgettable evening of generosity. The support helps Canuck Place in their goal to reach every family caring for a child living with a life-threatening illness across BC and the Yukon, so they have access to care where and when they need it.
Over $1.37 Million Raised for Canuck Place
The evening, hosted at the Fairmont Pacific, began with a Canuck Place family as they shared their story with host Riaz Menghi. In meaningful conversations like these, we hear how Canuck Place provides world-leading pediatric palliative care with great compassion. They offer bereavement support for not only the children, but for whole families.
When time is short and love is deep, every moment matters.
We also heard from the Gift of Time Gala co-chairs, Canuck Place team members, and Fred Lee hosted a live auction and Fund-a-Need segment. Canadian singer/songwriter Desirée Dawson also performed two songs including Meet You at the Light.
Over three decades, Canuck Place has built something incredibly special: a place where kids can be kids, where families find strength and respite, and hope lives on, even in the most difficult moments. It was an honour to be in a room with volunteers, staff, supporters, donors, and families who all care so deeply for this incredible cause.

From now until December 31, every gift received this holiday season will be matched, dollar for dollar, thanks to generous partners, John and Claire Nicola and Helen Edwards during the Light a Life campaign.
