The YWCA BC Women of Distinction Awards seeks nominations for individuals who exemplify and drive positive change, whether through their direct actions or as inspirational figures. This is your opportunity to recognize an outstanding woman or organization by nominating them for an award. The award categories include: Â

- Business & the Professions
- Community Champion
- Education, Training, & Development
- Entrepreneurship & Innovation
- Environmental Sustainability
- Health & Wellness
- Non-profit
- Reconciliation
- Research, The Sciences & Technology
- Young Woman of Distinction
Nominees must have activities and achievements that align with the YWCA’s mission and vision. View the FAQ page for answers to frequently asked questions or watch this video on how to successfully submit a nomination.
Nominations will close on Friday, November 27, 2026, at 5:00pm.
Nominations that recognize the contributions of Black, Indigenous and People of Colour, and 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals are strongly encouraged.

About the Awards
The YWCA Women of Distinction Awards celebrate individuals and organizations whose outstanding contributions foster the well-being, strength and future of our community. These awards honour all women, including trans women. The YWCA strongly encourages nominations that recognize the contributions of Black, Indigenous and People of Colour, as well as 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals.
As a signature fundraising event, the Awards not only highlight the nominees’ achievements but also unite our diverse community in a shared mission to empower and uplift one another.
Since its inception in 1984, the awards have been a cornerstone for celebrating progress and advancing gender equity. Over the past 43 years, the event has honoured over 2,300 exceptional nominees who inspire change and drive meaningful impact.
