The Black Spaces Symposium is an annual gathering dedicated to empowering African Descent communities by creating inclusive platforms for dialogue, artistry, and action. Through collaborative programming, the Symposium fosters cultural pride, community resilience, and sustainable solutions for the future. 

  • Dates: September 21 – October 25, 2025
  • Location: Events will be hosted across public institutions and community spaces in Vancouver, with both in-person and virtual offerings to ensure accessibility for all

      • Redefining Possibilities: Creative Leadership and Community Engagement with Black Mental Health Week – (Workshop Online)

The Symposium invites BIPOC communities, LGBTQ2IA+ members, allies, and the wider public to engage in a powerful, inclusive dialogue that centres and celebrates African Descent experiences, culture, and innovation.
