Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival 2025
When it launched in 2011, the Greater Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival was the first city-wide initiative of its kind in the world. This January, it return for the 15th season to feature the region’s best chocolatiers, pastry shops, bakeries, cafes, gelato and ice cream makers – all coming together to make the humble hot chocolate hotter than it has ever been before!
Flavours & Chocolate Treats
You can search gluten free, dairy-free, vegan options, and by which places are open late or have takeout/dine-in. Here are just a few of the satisfyingly sweet options offered this year:
Analog Coffee (338 Helmcken St, Vancouver) is offering 2 drinks this year. The BC Foragers Hot Chocolate is a white hot chocolate with blueberry and citrus topped with whip cream and subtle notes of porcini mushrooms served with a vegan matcha cookie. The Enchanted Rose, inspired by Turkish Delight, is a rich dark chocolate combined with rosewater and citrus, topped with rose petals and whipped cream served with a vegan pistachio cookie.
Bak’d Cookies (285 Nelson’s Court, New Westminster) is offering 2 drink options. You’re my U(bae) is an ube white hot chocolate topped with purple whip and toasted coconut served with an ube cookie. Dough My Gawd – O.G. Cookie Hot Chocolate is a Bak’d Cookie in hot chocolate form made with dark chocolate and topped with toasted marshmallow whip.
Bjornbar Bakery (102-3053 Edgemont Boulevard, North Vancouver & 111-581 Clarke Rd, Coquitlam) will feature two drink offerings. Totally Bananas Over You! is a banana milk chocolate ganache hot chocolate served with a peanut butter cookie and This Party is Poppin’ is a strawberry white chocolate ganache hot chocolate topped with whipped cream, served with sweet and salty popcorn.
Doughnut Love (107 – 1655 Como Lake Ave, Coquitlam) is offering 2 drinks. Cookie in a Cloud is hot chocolate with dark chocolate ganache and a touch of vanilla topped with whipped cream and a scoop of cookie dough mousse served with a chocolate chip cookie dough old fashion (a vanilla old fashion doughnut topped with vanilla glaze, mini chocolate chips, chocolate drizzle, and a scoop of cookie dough). Twice the Black Forest (available vegan/gluten friendly) is a rich hot chocolate infused with dark cherries and cherry syrup topped with cherry infused whipped cream, chocolate shavings and a cherry on top served with a yeast brioche doughnut filled with cherry compote and whipped cream, dipped in dark chocolate ganache topped with whip and a cherry.
Glenburn Soda Fountain (4090 hastings St, Burnaby) is offering 4 drinks. That’s My Jam is a milk hot chocolate with grape cold foam served with a toast and jam cookie. Bacon Me Crazy is a dark hot chocolate infused with hickory smoke flavour served with a mini egg tart. You’re Waffle-y Cute is an espresso-infused white chocolate with a mini scoop of dark chocolate ice cream served with a caramel stroopwafel. Flippin’ Out is a maple dark hot chocolate with maple syrup whipped cream served with mini Dutch Poffertjes pancakes.
Honolulu Coffee (2098 West 41st Ave, Vancouver/888 Nelson St, Vancouver/97 West 2nd Ave, Vancouver) is offering 2 drinks. Kim’s Berry is a vegan hot chocolate with creamy oat milk, strawberry and fermented Korean gochujang to add a subtle spice served with a vegan strawberry cookie. Flora’s Glow is a hot chocolate with creamy oat milk and a blend of tropical guava and orange zest served with a vegan orange almond cookie.

Events
The festival this year includes a lineup of special events, including Drunken Chocolatier at the Riley Park Farmers Market weekly at the Kitsilano Farmers Market, and a Day of Hot Chocolate at Lush on February 15th.
