They learned from community members that having a place to sell is their biggest pain point, so they are replacing the street store with the Make Change Market this year.

About Employ To Empower

Employ to Empower is a Vancouver charity that empowers low-income communities to overcome barriers to employment using entrepreneurship. Barriers can include mental or physical health challenges, disability, and recovery from addiction. Many of amazing charities help with short term survival needs like clothing, food and housing, and ETE is the next step. They empower people to thrive through building capacity with entrepreneurship skills training.

Since 2018, 402 people have taken the program, with an average completion rate of 87%. ETE’s community has taught them that when people receive resources to overcome barriers, it inspires them to dream big for themselves and to empower others to unlock their potential.
