Openings

Via Tevere Pizzeria Napoletana to Open on Main Street this May

  • When: Slated to open in late May 2024, open from Tuesday to Sunday from 4pm until late.
  • Where: 3240 Main Street, Vancouver
  • Details: Via Tevere Pizzeria Napoletana is very excited to open a second restaurant location at 3240 Main Street, this May! The East Van location opened their doors in 2012 and quickly earned brand recognition from their homemade Neapolitan-style pies and authentic Southern Italian flavours. Via Tevere Main Street will feature 32 indoor seats in addition to two outdoor spaces: a 12-seat side patio and another 12-seat curbside patio. Vancouver International Airport (YVR) celebrated the highly anticipated opening of Hula Poké in its domestic terminal. The new restaurant, located post-security, provides another option for travellers departing for Canadian destinations with breakfast, lunch and dinner items offered over extended hours to better serve travellers. Hula Poké is the 12th local brand to open a storefront at YVR since 2022.

Treat Mom to Dinner at the Vancouver Aquarium

  • When: Only May 11th and May 12th, 2024
  • Where: 845 Avison Way, Vancouver – in Stanley Park
  • Details: The Vancouver Aquarium is hosting a very special dinner for Mother’s Day at sunset. You can treat the mother figure in your life to an evening of fine dining “under the sea” in the aquarium. Tickets include adults-only access (19+) to the entire aquarium after dark, a three-course meal, a private screening of their new 4D movie, a digital souvenir photo and more. Provence Marinaside Presents Mamie Suzanne’s Fish Soup

  • When: Now Available
  • Where: 1177 Marinaside Crescent, Vancouver
  • Details: Jean-Francis Quaglia, owner and Executive Chef of Provence Marinaside, announced his first venture into the packaged food sector – Mamie Suzanne’s Fish Soup, named after the chef’s late mother. Taking more than a year in development, a 750 ml pouch priced at $18.49 provides two to four servings depending on whether it is enjoyed as a first or main course. To start, it will be available for sale only at the restaurant; though, other outlets are an option if the demand is high. Enjoy a meal at Provence any day of the week and take the comfort meal home to enjoy at a later date.

Guten Appetit: Bacchus launches new German-inspired brunch service

  • When: Now Available
  • Where: 845 Hornby Street, Vancouver
  • Details: There is a new brunch destination in downtown Vancouver as award-winning Bacchus Restaurant & Lounge launches Chef Stefan Hartmann’s Bavarian Brunch. Inspired by the chef’s German roots, the menu features a variety of classic and inventive dishes, such as a Berlin-style Currywurst, Chicken Schnitzel and Oma’s Rice Pudding. Bacchus’s new Bavarian Brunch is available on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, and features several a la carte dishes, such as: a Poached Weisswurst with freshly baked pretzel and sweet mustard; Bavarian Meatloaf with melted onions, eggs, and German potato salad; the Berlin-style Currywurst with bratwurst, warm curry sauce, and much more. Como Taperia x Paella Guys: Popular Patio Paella Series Returns

  • When: Tickets now available for the series
  • Where: 201 East 7th Ave., Vancouver
  • Details: For the third year in a row, Mount Pleasant’s award-winning Spanish tapas destination ¿CóMO? Taperia and Paella Guys (based in Burnaby) are teaming up for the return of their popular Patio Paella Series. Launching over Victoria Day weekend, on May 19th, 2024, and almost every second Sunday until September 1, 2024, guests can indulge in plates of freshly cooked paella, alongside ¿CóMO? Taperia’s signature food and drinks menu. Tickets, which often sell out, are now available for various dates and party sizes. $28 per person plus 20% gratuity and tax. The price includes one plate of Paella per person (which contains meat and seafood). 

    Once seated the Paella Guys will start cooking the Paella outside where guests are welcome to watch. The Paella does take 45-60 mins to cook. Drinks and Tapas will be available upon arrival a la carte. The Como kitchen will be fully open to order tapas while the paella is being cooked. The bar is also open and the full menu is available.
