At May’s Place, individuals from all walks of life receive compassionate end-of-life care in a home-like environment. Patients and their loved ones are able to spend meaningful time together in peaceful settings without the strain of care-taking while being provided the best possible quality of life, with dignity and self-determination.
100% of funds raised from the virtual event will support the purchase of important equipment and provide quality programs for end-of-life patients.
About the Event
Dr. Gabor Mate, a Canadian internationally renowned speaker and award-winning author, will present a keynote address. Dr. Mate’s work and expertise focuses on addiction, trauma, childhood development, and the relationship between stress and illness. He is an advocate for compassionate care and the importance of services like those provided by May’s Place. The virtual event also acts as a fundraiser for much-needed upgrades to ceiling lifts which allow the hospice to continue its important mandate.
Dr. Sue Burgess, Art Therapist and Julie Burk, Social Worker will also speak about their work with May’s Place.
The silent auction runs online here from September 2 to October 31, 2020. Registered guests will be entered into a draw to win an autographed copy of one of Dr. Maté’s books.
Miss604 has been a sponsor (and judge) of the annual holiday event, Yule Duel for May’s Place, since 2016.
