CBC Radio host Angela Sterritt will be the evening’s MC, and well-known gala celebrity Fred Lee is returning to lead the live auction.

Beach Grove Golf Club’s Executive Chef Froilan Alejo, Chef Shay Kelly (The Caterer), Chefs TJ Conwi and Bruce Nollert (Ono Vancouver) and Pastry Chef Vanessa Ferrara (The Caterer) will put their culinary skills to the test, each creating a signature dish for the event using recovered food donated by local growers and grocery chains.

The Chefs’ Charity Dinner this year is moving from Vancouver to Tsawwassen, as part of a new plan for the gala to take place in the communities that Dan’s Legacy serves. “We’ve received outstanding support from the community this past year, and the Chefs’ Dinner is one of the ways we say thank you,” says executive director Barbara Coates.

Dan’s Legacy provides therapeutic counselling and life-skills intervention programs to youth affected by trauma-based mental health and addictions issues. In the past four years Dan’s Legacy has helped over 300 youth meet their educational, housing and life-goals.
