Fireworks Festival in New Westminster
Hyack presents the free Summer Music & Fireworks Festival along the waterfront in New Westminster this Saturday. Shop an artisan market vendors and exhibitors, enjoy live entertainment, a selection of food options, and a fireworks finale.
Fireworks Festival in New Westminster
- Date: Saturday, August 22, 2026 from 4:00pm until 10:00pm
- Location: Quayside Boardwalk (810 Quayside Dr, New Westminster)
- Admission: Free!
The festival will feature two entertainment stages with:

- Jack Rambler’s Delta Blues Review ft. Mighty Stone Face
- The Shenanigans

- DJ Gab
- Dynamic Health and Fitness Zumba
- DJ NAS (Hype Set)

The Kids Zone will have face painting, colouring, Lego, carnival games, and more from 4:00pm to 9:00pm. Register online in advance for the Ping Pong Tournament that will be held from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. View the full list of food stalls, vendors, and exhibitors. Author Pop-Up
My co-author John Lee and I will be at Kinder Books inside the River Market at the Quay to sign copies of Freecouver: 101 free things to do in & around Vancouver between 3:00pm to 6:00pm. The shop will also host a “Night at the Bookstore” storytime at 6:30pm.
Road Closures of Note
Columbia Street, Front Street, Begbie Street, and Eighth Street will close to through traffic from 8:30am until 11:30pm. Quayside Drive will stay open but drops to a single alternating lane (expect delays). Detour via Tenth St or Carnarvon St. Local resident traffic still gets through, and buses run their regular routes and are let through the barricades, transit will be the easiest way in and out.
