Win Tickets to Don’t Dress for Dinner
byThe creative team at Richmond’s Gateway Theatre has pulled out all of the stops for their final play of the 2015–2016 season with a presentation of Don’t Dress for Dinner.
This hilarious bedroom farce is written by Marc Camoletti, whose previous comedy, the wildly popular Boeing-Boeing, played to sold out crowds when Arts Club staged it here in 2013. Like Boeing-Boeing, Don’t Dress for Dinner is a farcical comedy that will have audiences rolling in the aisles.
Don’t Dress for Dinner
Where: Gateway Theatre (6500 Gilbert Road, Richmond)
When: April 7–23, 2016 at 8:00pm, with matinees April 9 & 12
Tickets: $45 for adults; $20 for students call the box office at (604) 270-1812 or book online
Adding new twists to the age-old themes of mistaken identity and romantic confusion, Don’t Dress for Dinner is a tale of attempted adultery gone terribly wrong.
With his wife out of town, and armed with a fool-proof alibi from his best friend as well as the perfect setting just outside of Paris lined up for a rendezvous, Bernard thinks he has everything figured out. Or, does he? A missed phone call rapidly transforms a simple, pleasurable evening with his mistress into a complicated night of mistaken identities, confused alibis, double adultery, and a “Suzette” as well as a “Suzanne.”
As with Boeing-Boeing, Camoletti has created the perfect recipe for a frisson of spontaneous laughter. Audiences should be prepared for a healthy serving of hysterical hijinks. Don’t Dress for Dinner is a co-production with Thousand Islands Playhouse and Western Canada Theatre. By Marc Camoletti, adapted by Robin Hawdon.
