Crush Hunger with Monster Jam
byBig, thunderous, rip-roaring trucks are coming to BC Place but they have a soft spot when they’re not twisting metal and crushing cars. The Maple Leaf Monster Jam Tour is coming to Vancouver on January 26, 2013 but they’re making a special appearing next week to support the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.
The Maple Leaf Monster Jam Tour is challenging Vancouver to help “crush hunger” by filling up a car with non-perishable food items on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at BC Place. Fans in attendance will have the opportunity to meet Canada-based Monster Jam driver Barry Parkin, take photos with his 10,000lb. monster truck Western Renegade, and help those in need.
In appreciation, every person who donates five non-perishable food items or makes a $20 donation will receive one complimentary ticket voucher to the Maple Leaf Monster Jam Vancouver show on January 26th (tickets limited to the first 500 donors, first-come/first-served).
Recommended food items for donation include: high protein items such as canned fish or
poultry, meals in a can (hearty soups, stews and chili), natural peanut butter, whole wheat
pasta, pasta sauce, rice, beans, high fiber and non-sugar coated cereals. For every $1 donated, the Food Bank is able to purchase as much as $3 worth of food, maximizing the impact.
To make your donation and get your ticket to Monster Jam, stop by the Terry Fox Plaza at BC Place Stadium on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Follow Monster Jam on Facebook and Twitter to learn more about promotions and check out the show that will be coming to town in the new year.
