I was an instructor at Canada Ice Dance Theatre for a number of years. It’s a great figure skating program for both children and adults. The free family skate is always a good time!
Here is another wonderful opportuntity for the whole family to enjoy as the Canada Ice Dance Theatre performs on Saturday, March 21 (7:30 p.m.), at the Kerrisdale Arena.
Starring in the show are Olympian Ice Dancers, Megan Wing and Aaron Lowe. As familiar to television viewers as they are, this will be a rare opportunity for fans to see the pair in a special live performance. After years of training in the Eastern US with famous Russian coaches and competing around the world, this talented couple has returned to share their coaching expertise with skaters in their hometown of Vancouver.
You may think you’ve seen it all, but until you’ve seen the Olympian and 1988 World’s Professional Champion, Gary Beacom, you haven’t! Beacom is renowned for his unusual, often bizarre moves, and seems to defy gravity with his command of the skating edge. Much in demand for his unique performances, Beacom recently completed two tours of Russia with World Champion, Evgeny Plushenko.
Canada Ice Dance Theatre is changing the face of figure skating by integrating the sensibilities of the contemporary dance, music and art worlds into performance skating. Canada Ice Dance Theatre is a non-profit organization that exists to recognize the grace, beauty, personal expression and artistic nature of movement on ice.
Tickets are available through: Tickets Tonight at 604-684-2787 or at the door. Adults are $15 and children $12.
