The excitement begins at the Monster Jam Pit Party, before the afternoon events on Saturday and Sunday. Fans can see the massive trucks up close, meet their favourite drivers and crews, get autographs, and take pictures.  Activities include the Sand Box play area, UNOH tire demonstration, colouring and temporary tattoo station, and new photo ops, including the chance to take a photo with the Series trophy.  This is the only place that allows people to get up close access to the Monster Jam teams and get an insider’s look at how these trucks are built to stand up to the competition. 

Fans are encouraged to get to their seats early to experience Monster Jam Trackside approximately one hour before the event start time.  Featured festivities include competition previews, driver interviews, giveaways, opening ceremonies and power rush truck introductions.

The world’s best drivers will show off crazy skills and all-out racing in fierce head-to-head battles for the Event Championship.  Engineered to perfection, the 12,000-pound Monster Jam trucks push all limits in Freestyle, Skills, Donuts and Racing competitions.  Monster Jam drivers are trained, world-class male and female athletes who have mastered not only the physical strength and mental stamina needed to compete, but the vital dexterity to control these giant machines capable of doing backflips, vertical two-wheel skills and racing at speeds up to 70 miles-per-hour to produce jaw-dropping, live motorsports action seen around the world. 

The Arena Series West Champion will receive a highly coveted automatic bid to the prestigious Monster Jam World Finals^® at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles in May 2024 to compete for the title of World Champion.

Following the success of its fairy-tale themed Once Upon a Time Afternoon Tea last year, the elevated lounge offers a uniquely-themed tea experience, inspired by the charm of A.A. Milne’s classic children’s tale. It’s a favourite of Canadians everywhere, as the character of Winnie was inspired by Winnipeg, a real-life bear that lived at the London Zoo a century ago. It was beloved by Milne’s young son, who renamed his teddy bear, and in the process inspired the creation of a children’s literature icon.

The Menu

Delectable sweet and savoury treats draw from the beloved fictional characters. Snack on Pooh’s Pot of Gold, which swirls cotton candy and honey crystals on popcorn kissed with burnt honey and sea salt; or Eeyore’s Blueberry Blues, Earl Grey-infused berry scones with clotted cream and preserves. Sweets include Piglet’s Big Adventure, a decadent coconut and strawberry dessert; Rabbit’s Radiant Carrot Patch cake with honeycomb dust; and the delightful chocolate, shortbread and ganache sandwich called Christopher Robin’s Surprise. Mr. Sanders’s Honey Smoked Salmon, Owl’s Treasured Terrine and Roo’s Royal Tartlet chicken salad are among the literary savouries.

A Star Society is set to host its inaugural A Star Gala fundraiser on March 16th. Held at the River Rock Theatre, the event will feature auctions, dinner, dance performances, and special guests DJ Kool Herc and Cindy Campbell.

DJ Kool Herc, known as a Founding Father of Hip-Hop, and his sister, Cindy Campbell, recognized as the esteemed First Lady of Hip-Hop, will share insights into how their intimate gatherings in the Bronx played a pivotal role in igniting a global cultural revolution. The gala aims to raise funds to support A Star Society‘s dance education programs, scholarships, and community outreach initiatives.

“Arts education is often the first to be cut from school programs and we’ve seen a growing need from families for financial support for dance classes. A Star Society spends 95% of its funds directly supporting dancers and proceeds from this gala will contribute to the development of the next generation of artists and innovators–fostering a culture where imagination fuels progress.”

A Star Society for the Performing & Fine Arts provides financial support for disadvantaged and at-risk children and youth to take our valuable dance programs. These programs motivate students, increase self-esteem, build confidence and create community. Besides excellent training in dance, students can become empowered to actualize their potential, be socially responsible and create positive change.

The society was founded by Anita Perel-Panar and Jheric Hizon of Boogaloo Academy, which hosts classes (from musical theatre, ballet, hip hop, street style, and classical) and camps for kids and youth.

It’s the return of the VIFF Oscars Party in Vancouver! On March 10th, audiences are invited to wear their suits and gowns to walk the red carpet at VIFF Centre’s Vancity Theatre.

The VIFF Oscar Party will be screening many Academy Award nominees in the run-up to the award ceremony, including Justine Triet’s Anatomy of a Fall, Bradley Cooper’s Maestro, and J.A Bayona’s Society of the Snow. An annual showcase of Oscars Shorts also returns, screening nominees in short-form animation, documentary and live-action filmmaking. Screening times can be found here.

Fashion guru Steven Schelling and actor-writer David C Jones will provide live in-person commentary and emcee Oscars trivia, games and competitions. There’ll be photo opportunities on VIFF’s own red carpet, whilst contests include VIFF’s best dressed awards, with prizes for swankiest outfits and best cosplay in honour of favourite nominees. VIFF’s Oscars bingo is an invitation to predict the winners – with the grand prize being a pass to the annual Vancouver International Film Festival this fall.

Burgers are also available to preorder, supplied by local Indian spot Rollzzy. Prosecco, cocktails, beer, and soft drinks will be available to purchase at VIFF Centre’s licensed bar.
