The Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival is in full swing, with beautiful blossoms painting the city pink with their fragrant confetti. One of the most picturesque places in the city, Queen Elizabeth Park, will host two events this weekend that you won’t want to miss:

The Big Picnic Presented by TD Bank Group
Where: Queen Elizabeth Park (near 33rd and Cambie entrance)
When: Saturday, April 14, 2018 12:00pm to 3:00pm (rain or shine)
Details: Join Vancouver’s largest spring picnic! This location has 20 Akebono and Yoshino cherry trees in full bloom. Family-friendly activities will include face-painting, walking meditation, life-size jenga, connect four, and performances by local artists.
Artistic performances will include: Vancouver Morris Men Spring dances, Noriko Kobayashi on Shamisen and the colourful Chinese fan dance by Jessica Yue. Tacofino, Disco Cheetah will be onsite along with McCafé, who will be handing out free hot chocolate, and coffee. Costco Warehouse will also be there handing out free snacks.

Spring Lights Illumination
Where: Queen Elizabeth Park (near 33rd and Cambie entrance)
When: Saturday, April 14, 2018 Dusk to 10:00pm (Cancelled only for heavy rain; light drizzle OK)
Details: Artists Hfour will illuminate Queen Elizabeth Park’s largest cherry tree canopy with vibrant projections. Illumination will be set up for unobstructed views ideal for night photography, with a new walkthrough experience this year. Lamondance will perform spring interpretive dances choreographed by Heather Laura Gray. REEL Mac and Cheese, Kaboom Box food trucks will be on site along with and McCafé, who will be handing out free hot chocolate, and coffee.
