Family Day in BC is coming up on Monday, February 18, 2019. It’s a new date this year – lining up with the rest of Canada’s holiday dates – so the event list is a bit thinner. However, I update this list every day so check back often to see what’s happening around the region:
February is a fun month in Vancouver, where we shift from winter blues to budding blossoms, Valentine’s Day dinners, family day fun, cultural festivals and much more. Your February event list for Metro Vancouver is below and if you have anything to add, you can send it in at any time for a free listing. This post is updated daily throughout the month, thanks!
While Cupcake Day was pretty awesome, the BC SPCA is kicking their fundraising initiative up a notch this year with a full Treat Week! Treat Week is your way to help BC’s animals. Set up a fundraising page to collect donations, and treat yourself and your friends for doing something great for animals in need.
Treat Week
Treat Week takes place February 25 to March 3, 2019 and is expanding from cupcakes to include brownies, macarons, pancakes, popcorn, cocktails, lattes or any other treat you’d like to offer.
You can show your love for animals by taking treats into work or school, or throwing a party for family and friends. All the “dough” raised from Treat Week™ goes to help abandoned, neglected or abused animals in the BC SPCA’s care across the province.
“By participating in Treat Week, animal lovers can help save the lives of our province’s most vulnerable animals while make everyone’s lives a little sweeter,” says Tess Repenning, manager of peer-to-peer fundraising for the BC SPCA. “We are inviting participants to register their event at treatweek.ca to receive fundraising help, fantastic exclusives and more.” Plus, if you enter by Thursday, January 31st and raise $50 or more, you’ll be entered in a draw to win a KitchenAid stand mixer!
Register today at treatweek.ca and stay up-to-date on all the Treat Week activities.

It was 10 years ago that I met a pair of Vancouver entrepreneurs who were starting their own panty-of-the-month subscription service called Panty by Post. I was thrilled when, just a few weeks ago, PBP contacted me to not only celebrate our 10 year anniversary but to also offer up a contest for my readers to mark the milestone.
How it Works
Choose a subscription package for yourself or a gift, chose your line (Premium, Signature, Basic, Naughty but Nice), choose your style, pick your size and get ready for panties delivered to your door! Get your first month for $9.95.
In a day and age when you can get pretty much anything delivered to your door, it’s fun to see that this local start-up is still going strong. From basic everyday styles to the lacy frillies, you get to select your preference — and every style is wash-and-go. Since the beginning, PBP has also given back to their community locally and abroad. They currently support Women Deliver, a Global Organization focussed on the maternal, sexual and reproductive health and rights of girls and women.
Win a Prize Pack
I’m giving away $100 worth of Panty by Post styles to one lucky winner who can pick from the line of their choice.
Here’s how you can enter to win:
