Covenant House Sleep Out Champions Edition
Sleep Out: Champions Edition is a fundraising initiative for anyone who would like to actively support vulnerable youth. On Thursday, February 29, 2024, people across the Lower Mainland, and beyond, will give up their beds for one night, to provide many nights of safety and support for youth.
There are 500–1,000 young people without a safe place to sleep every night in Metro Vancouver. Each of them has a story, a dream, and a future.
When I looked at my calendar this week I was pleasantly surprised to see that Family Day Long Weekend is already here! There’s a lot to do around Metro Vancouver, especially we the Pro-D day for many on Friday as well. From free and low-cost events, to fun activities at our favourite local attractions, here’s the big list of things to do in Vancouver and beyond:

The excitement begins at the Monster JamPit Party, before the afternoon events on Saturday and Sunday. Fans can see the massive trucks up close, meet their favourite drivers and crews, get autographs, and take pictures. Activities include the Sand Box play area, UNOH tire demonstration, colouring and temporary tattoo station, and new photo ops, including the chance to take a photo with the Series trophy. This is the only place that allows people to get up close access to the Monster Jam teams and get an insider’s look at how these trucks are built to stand up to the competition.
Fans are encouraged to get to their seats early to experience Monster Jam Trackside approximately one hour before the event start time. Featured festivities include competition previews, driver interviews, giveaways, opening ceremonies and power rush truck introductions.
The world’s best drivers will show off crazy skills and all-out racing in fierce head-to-head battles for the Event Championship. Engineered to perfection, the 12,000-pound Monster Jam trucks push all limits in Freestyle, Skills, Donuts and Racing competitions. Monster Jam drivers are trained, world-class male and female athletes who have mastered not only the physical strength and mental stamina needed to compete, but the vital dexterity to control these giant machines capable of doing backflips, vertical two-wheel skills and racing at speeds up to 70 miles-per-hour to produce jaw-dropping, live motorsports action seen around the world.
The Arena Series West Champion will receive a highly coveted automatic bid to the prestigious Monster Jam World Finals® at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles in May 2024 to compete for the title of World Champion.

Booking: Prepaid reservations (2.5 hours in duration) are available on Tock for parties of 1 to 6 people, for $72 per person, plus taxes and gratuity.
Following the success of its fairy-tale themed Once Upon a Time Afternoon Tea last year, the elevated lounge offers a uniquely-themed tea experience, inspired by the charm of A.A. Milne’s classic children’s tale. It’s a favourite of Canadians everywhere, as the character of Winnie was inspired by Winnipeg, a real-life bear that lived at the London Zoo a century ago. It was beloved by Milne’s young son, who renamed his teddy bear, and in the process inspired the creation of a children’s literature icon.
The Menu
Delectable sweet and savoury treats draw from the beloved fictional characters. Snack on Pooh’s Pot of Gold, which swirls cotton candy and honey crystals on popcorn kissed with burnt honey and sea salt; or Eeyore’s Blueberry Blues, Earl Grey-infused berry scones with clotted cream and preserves. Sweets include Piglet’s Big Adventure, a decadent coconut and strawberry dessert; Rabbit’s Radiant Carrot Patch cake with honeycomb dust; and the delightful chocolate, shortbread and ganache sandwich called Christopher Robin’s Surprise. Mr. Sanders’s Honey Smoked Salmon, Owl’s Treasured Terrine and Roo’s Royal Tartlet chicken salad are among the literary savouries.
