Earlier this season, Coastal Jazz & Blues Society announced that The Roots would be one of the headliners for the 34th annual TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival. They will perform at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on Friday, June 28 at 8:00pm and you could win your way in!

Legendary GRAMMY award-winning crew The Roots are one of the best-known and most respected hip-hop acts in the business. Prolific and progressive, they were named one of the greatest live bands around by Rolling Stone and serve as the official house band on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Forsaking usual hip-hop protocol, they are endlessly creative, whether with their own material or through numerous collaborations. The Roots Picnic, a yearly star-studded mix of musicians, has become a celebrated institution, and most recently, they are working on animated live-action and animated children’s series in partnership with Amazon. They’ve gone platinum, they’ve gone gold, and they bring the house down every time.
The TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival will take place June 21 to July 1, 2019 and will be held in multiple locations across Vancouver. There’s a Trivia Night coming up in Vancouver, in support of one of my favourite local causes! Aunt Leah’s is hosting a Trivia Extravaganza and Silent Auction on April 27th which will be a fun night of obscure facts, laughter and good times, as they raise money for local foster youth in need.

I love Trivia Nights. One of my crowning achievements came last summer when I was visiting my in-laws in small town Iowa. Every time John and I visit, we go to Trivia Night (first Tuesday of the month) and this time our family team won. It was a tough challenge, but it was a glorious victory. There was even a trophy that took two hands to hold up above my head triumphantly (and rather obnoxiously) as our team posed for photos afterward. So, I’m very excited to offer up the opportunity to YOU to join a Trivia Night here in Vancouver, thanks to Aunt Leah’s.
