The ultimate goal of Culture Days is to make arts, culture and heritage a part of every Canadian’s life, whether by creating, enjoying, supporting or sharing.

The first time I walked into MUJI on Robson Street I was so impressed by the goods offered that I believe I posted on my Instagram story that it was my new favourite thing ever. Eco-friendly, low-cost, good quality products are the foundation on which MUJI has always prided itself, and I was pretty excited when they opened up in my neighbourhood!
MUJI in Japanese, translates as “no-brand quality goods.” MUJI was founded in Japan in 1980 and now has more than 800 stores around the world, carrying more than 7,000 items MUJI expanded to Canada in 2014, with the opening of Toronto’s Atrium location (Yonge and Dundas). After opening three additional stores in Ontario, the company focused on British Columbia in 2017 with the Metropolis at Metrotown store in Burnaby and the Robson Street store in Vancouver.
Back to School Savings
With a wide array of stationery, study desks, organizers and more, MUJI is also a great Back to School shopping resource.
Until September 8, students and faculty get 10% off all purchases made in stores with a valid ID (applies on regular-priced merchandise only).
I have a MUJI Back to School Prize Pack valued at $100 to give away! It includes a bundle of stationary items and back to school essentials – including their newly re-designed (and refillable) gel-ink pens, staple-free stapler, sticky notes. Here’s how you can enter to win:

The exquisite vocals of the Vancouver Cantonese Opera echoed from the Bamboo Theatre Stage as I arrived on site for the 5th annual Richmond World Festival. Continuing past the Digital Carnival, and a few more pop-up performance spaces, I arrived at the food truck row where five dozen eateries on wheels were ready to serve up decadent treats for the weekend.

Past the Antartica Zone (aka ice skating at the Minoru Arenas) and onto the track I went, shopping, browsing, and engaging at the community marketplace and cultural pavilions.
A performer blew giant bubbles as vendors displayed their handcrafts, a pair of kids donned sumo suits and began a battle in a ring. Grupo América warmed up the YVR Mosaic Stage and I noticed that Tsatsu Staqayu Coastal Wolfpack would be headlining the Lansdowne Global Stage that night.
