Post #17 of #49 – Over the next 24 hours I will be raising funds for the Union Gospel Mission during Blogathon 2009 by writing a blog post every 30 minutes. Please consider donating to my cause to keep my going until 6am PT July 26th.
All morning I’ve been watching the SeaBus come and go from the harbour right in front of me so I thought it warranted its own Blogathon post.
Many think that the SeaBus began operation in 1985-86 when our faithful Skytrain lines opened up. However, the passenger-only ferry crossing from downtown to the North Shore has been wave-hopping since 1977.
As my friend Dave says, it’s the “$3.75 Harbour Cruise”. The quick trip isn’t the most luxurious but the scenery is just gorgeous (and it sure beats sitting in traffic for hours to cross one of the bridges).

Lunchtime here at Blogathon Vancouver. Dairy Queen was kind enough to bring some burgers, wraps, salads, onion rings, fries, sundaes and Blizzards. Most of these items are a part of DQ’s Sweet Deals menu.

It’s a ton of food but the group here has certainly worked up an appetite as we near the half way point for Blogathon.

We’ve had a few visitors stop by Workspace already and one of them was John Biehler. He’s kindly donated a $25 gift certificate for the Kingston Taphouse & Grille. To enter, simply donate any amount you like to my campaign and I’ll draw a winner once Blogathon wraps up.

Keira-Anne is stopping by today to offer some support for those doing Blogathon here at Workspace. Over the years she has become one of my closest and dearest friends, whom I can count on and trust wholeheartedly.

We’ve enjoyed many adventures together, from simple days of sun and sand at the local beach, to snowboarding and kayaking getaways on her beloved Vancouver Island.
Our biggest adventure is yet to come however, as in the spring of 2010 I’ll be accompanying Keira to New York so she can meet the city she’s had in her dreams for years.
Keira is also currently raising funds for the BC SPCA Paws for a Cause walk that is taking place at the end of summer. She’ll also have a guest post up on my site (because she’s pretty sweet like that) and if you can believe it, this is the third year in a row she’s contributed a post for my Blogathon.

I recently wrote about the NESTEA Chill on the Hill event in a Link Fest and it’s happening today up in Whistler.
Chill on the Hill will host concerts, a railslide & quarter pipe stunt park (with carted in snow), beach volleyball (with carted in sand) and an interactiviTEA bar with wifi.
You can follow @ChillontheHill on Twitter or better yet, our friends Gus, Russ and Tanya will be in attendance. Check out their blogs for updates and photos from the event this weekend.
