Vancouver Fireworks Photos: UK at the Celebration of Light

by Rebecca Bollwitt

Last night the United Kingdom kicked off the 2013 Celebration of Light fireworks with a display that was seen live by an estimated 250,000 people. Gathered on the shores of English Bay, Kitsilano, and anywhere the fiery bursts could be spotted from the air, the James Bond-themed show dazzled. https://twitter.com/VivienAvenue/status/361395204038737921 https://twitter.com/KljajicMilan/status/361383696848257024 Omg i'm seeing every1 […]

One of the many endearing attributes of Vancouver is that almost everywhere you look, there’s a beautiful view — or at least you can get to one within a few minutes. A view from a rooftop, a view from the mountains, a view from a friend’s balcony or from a fence in the park. Views […]

Vancouver Fog Photos

by Rebecca Bollwitt

Every few years Vancouver gets tucked into winter with a blanket of fog that drapes over the region leaving only the mountain peaks to bask in the sunshine. Back in 2009 I put together a collection of fog photos and given the pea soup streak we’ve had recently, it’s time to compile another featuring photos […]

From the Miss604 Flickr Pool: Dogs

by Rebecca Bollwitt

Vancouver is friendly to our four-legged friends who join locals on their morning jog, socialize outside a coffee shop, take off-leash walks in parks, and spend their afternoons at the spa or doggy bakery. The following collection of canine captures have been contributed to the Miss604 Flickr Pool: Photo credit: Jason Gallant on Flickr Photo […]
