Broadway Across Canada has announced their line-up of touring musicals that they’ll be bringing to Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre in 2014 and 2015.

Season Special: Wicked

May 28th to June 29th, 2014
Back by “popular” demand. Variety calls Wicked “a cultural phenomenon,” and when it last played Vancouver in 2011, it broke box office records. Winner of over 50 major award, including a Grammy® and three Tony Awards®, Wicked is “Broadway’s biggest blockbuster” (The New York Times).

Long before that girl from Kansas arrives in Munchkinland, two girls meet in the land of Oz. One – born with emerald green skin – is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these two grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good makes for “the most complete – and completely satisfying – musical in a long time.” (USA Today). *Wicked is a season special and an optional ticket purchase for Season Subscribers.

Flashdance to Musical

November 11th to 16th, 2014
Celebrating its 30th Anniversary, the pop culture phenomenon of Flashdance is now live on stage. With electrifying dance at its core, Flashdance- The Musical tells the inspiring and unforgettable story of Alex Owens, a Pittsburgh steel mill welder by day and a bar dancer by night with dreams of one day becoming a professional performer. When romance with her steel mill boss threatens to complicate her ambitions, Alex learns the meaning of love and its power to fuel the pursuit of her dream.

Flashdance- The Musical features a score that includes the biggest hit songs from the movie, including the Academy Award®-winning title song “Flashdance – What a Feeling,” “Maniac,” “Gloria,” “Manhunt,” and “I Love Rock & Roll.” In addition to these hits, 16 brand new songs have been written for the musical with music by Robbie Roth and lyrics by Robert Cary and Robbie Roth.

The Book of Mormon

April 7th to 12th, 2015
Winner of 9 Tony Awards® including Best Musical! From Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park, and Robert Lopez, co-creator of Avenue Q comes The Book of Mormon, a new Broadway musical that Jon Stewart of The Daily Show describes as, “a crowning achievement, so good it makes me angry” and by Entertainment Weekly as “the funniest musical of all time.” Don’t miss your chance to see what Ben Brantley of The New York Times calls “the best musical of this century.
