The Herstory Gala is a special evening that brings passionate individuals, supporters, and leaders together to celebrate the women of the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre and to raise vital funds to support life-changing programs.

Program Highlights

Madelaine McCallum: A gifted dancer, motivational speaker, facilitator, and MC from Ile a la Crosse, Saskatchewan. Madelaine brings passion, artistry, and a powerful yet gentle presence to the stage.

Wildflower Women of Turtle Island Drum Group: A powerful collective using drumming and song as a pathway to healing, empowerment, and voice.

Women of the Centre Fashion Show: A highlight of every Herstory Gala, featuring women from the community sharing their stories, creativity, and personal style.

Live Auction Hosted by Howard Blank: award-winning Fundraiser & Auctioneer, Howard’s passion and creativity enables him to resonate with an audience and create a fun, electric environment. Along with the live auction, guests will get the chance to submit final bids for the silent auction.

Help DEWC reach their fundraising goal of $250,000 where your contribution will help fund services which provide women with basic needs like meals and safe washrooms, life-saving support such as counselling, housing outreach, sexual assault response, and mental health advocacy, and culturally specific programming for Indigenous women and Chinese seniors.
