Zidane and Friends in Vancouver
byZinedine Zidane‘s postponed charity soccer tour Zidane and Friends will now be happening July 12 at Swangard Stadium.
He was originally scheduled to play alongside international soccer pals on July 4th however he sustained an injury on Canada Day. Returning this Sunday, the match will see local soccer stars take on Zidane’s team and will raise funds for UNICEF and other causes. Tickets start at $30 and are available online.
It just so happens that I have two four-packs of tickets to give away to Miss604.com readers to share with their friends and family. Please leave a comment on this post if you are interested in attending and I’ll draw two winners 24 hours from now, on Friday July 10th.
Update:The contest is now close and with the help of Raul, I did a draw for the two four-packs of tickets. Alan and Geraldine are the winners, congratulations!
Update: I was able to go as well, here are a few photos from this evening’s game…

Thanks for the info. Pick me please!
My wife and I were so disappointed when it was initially canceled. We thought about visiting him @ his hotel to ask for a headbutt or something. Anyhoo… happy to hear it’s back on.
Fingers crossed!!
Football?… I like football!!
With both my son and daughter playing in soccer (or football, as we used to call it in England!) leagues for several years, it would be great to go. Can’t afford to take them, because I lost my job recently. So it would be great if we win. Did I tell you how much I love your blog;-)
I would love to win this! Pick me pleaseee! 🙂
Yay! Zidane. Maybe he’ll headbutt the crowd.
Zinedine Zidane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Whitecaps won’t be at Swangard for much longer. This will be one to remember.
Game on!
Zizou…!
I did enjoy watching the last World Cup… cheering for France. 😮
Oh oh me me!
Nice one! My soccer-fan sis would love to go. If I win she gets the tix!
I heart football…
…someone told me he injured himself lifting a baby?
Word
I hope you pick me! 🙂
I’d like to enter this contest to win tickets for my nephew who just moved to Vancouver 2 weeks ago. Am I allowed to do that? He just graduated from university and is in a new province, new city and new job. With one paycheque to his name I doubt he will be spending money on entertainment yet, and it would be nice for him to take some new friends to this game to see Zidane, one of the greatest players ever. Thanks
Ooh pick me! Super fan.
It’s actually my 39th birthday today – this could be my present!
Should I wear a helmet….just in case?
Can’t wait to see Zidane in person!
*spins the wheel of fortune*
I love football. I like to think I could make it as a professional footballer, if I didn’t lack all the required skills. Pick me!
Hey Miss 604 – saw your tweet about this. Hopefully I win tickets! Thanks for the give away 🙂
I don’t watch soccer…but this could be a life-changing moment! And you could be responsible!
OKay, I’m in!! This man played for Juventus when I still lived in Torino (’01)! Would be awesome to watch him after so long!
Pick me 🙂
I’ve got a friend from Paris here—but we missed out on buying tickets!
Oh me too please Mz Rebecca 🙂
Added. Wish me luck.
Oh please put me in! I LOVE ZIZOU!
That’s a great way to share the abundance! I’m sure my family would enjoy the game. If I get the tickets I’ll invite a friend of mine who’s recovered from drug addiction to the game.
Best,
Alan
It would be nice if whomever wins, then makes a donation to Unicef Canada. I will!
I love Zidane he is a soccer legend. I moved to Vancouver the week before the game was supposed to go ahead and was very happy to hear that I would be able to see the greatest midfielder play. I thought this place would be a wilderness for soccer players so I was pleasantly surprised to hear he was coming to BC. I quickly phoned a friend already here and he booked up tickets, I was ecstatic.
I almost cried like a big girl when I heard that the game had been cancelled as I knew I’d never get a chance to see my idol grace the pitch once again. I’m glad to hear that the game has been re-arranged and if I’m not lucky enough to win tickets through here I will be trying my hardest to secure seats for this with my own money.
Sexiest bald man in soccer! Pick me, please!
My 7-year old son and 5-year old daughter just loves soccer. In fact they are just finishing up a summer soccer camp this week. Would be great if we’re lucky enough to win tickets and see this game. Thanks!
I was supposed to work the Greenday concert, and cancelled my shift to see the great Zizou, and with disappointment heard that the game was cancelled/postponed.. I would love to see his skills on the pitch. There is a man, who not only is extremely talented and cute, but volunteers his time too…now that is truly amazing. There’s a reason why Pascal Obispo (one of my favourite French singers) wrote a song dedictated to one of the greatest soccer players of all time called Zinedine.
Thanks Miss 604 for your generosity too! Enjoy the sunshine, and hopefully enjoy the game too! Cheers 🙂
Oh God!..I seem to be playing Zidane in Euro against England. I think i am just in time…to check my luck . I have madly seen all his videos…I have repeatedly seen full matches of France against spain, portugal, BRASIL and Italy…I cannot even think how ZZ tried cheeky penalty shot in the WC final..he is not only a good footballer..he is a true professional…ok My time up….Pick me up ..plssss
Zidane + Unicef + Football = FUN
Pick me. please…..
I’m interested in going:)
Oh to be able to see some top quality footie.
No ifs, and certainly no butts, I’d love to go
My little Nephew is in town from France and he loves Zidane! He would be super excited to go!
