Remembrance Day in Vancouver

Remembrance Day at Victory Square
Location: Victory Square (200 W Hastings St, Vancouver)
Date: November 11, 2025 at 10:30am
Details: Beginning in 1924, the Remembrance Day Ceremony at Victory Square is the oldest continuing annual ceremony in Vancouver. Reflecting respect and remembrance of sacrifices in the services of Canada – past and present.

Grandview
Location: Grandview Memorial Park Cenotaph (1657 Charles St, Vancouver)
Date: November 11, 2025 at 10:00am
Details:  All are invited to attend the service at the cenotaph to honour our veterans. After the service, we will be marching down Commercial Drive to Legion 179 (at 6th and Commercial Drive).

Seaforth Highlanders of Canada
Location:
 Seaforth Armoury, Parade Square (1650 Burrard St, Vancouver)
Date: November 11, 2024 doors at 10:00am, service at 10:50am
Details: This tradition and ceremony is led by the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada Regimental Association Chaplain, Reverend Paul Richards, who will officiate. The Association invites the public to join the Seaforth Highlanders at the Armoury as we pay respect for those serving and having served in the armed forces and honouring the memory of those who have fallen. 

Remembrance Day at UBC
Location: War Memorial Gym (6081 University Boulevard, Vancouver)
Date: November 11, 2024 doors at 10:00am, ceremony at 10:45am
Details:  Since the opening of the War Memorial Gym in 1951, The University of British Columbia has held a ceremony commemorating November 11. This year, 2025 will mark seventy-five years that The University of British Columbia has hosted a Remembrance Day ceremony. This special ceremony is an opportunity for faculty, staff, students and members of the on and off-campus community to honour and remember all those who served in times of war, military conflict and peace. This year’s ceremony will include participation and recognition of UBC’s Vancouver campus and will feature short readings and remarks from special guests.

West Vancouver Remembrance Day
Location: Memorial Arch in Memorial Park to Marine Drive between 19th St and 20th St
Date: November 11, 2025 parade at 10:45am
Details: This service is for the public to gather and honour our veterans and those currently serving in the Canadian Armed Forces. All members of the public are welcome and encouraged to attend. The parade starts at 10:45am from 18th Street and proceeds along Marine Drive to the memorial arch at Memorial Park (located across the street from the West Vancouver Memorial Library). The Ceremony of Remembrance starts at 10:50am at the memorial arch.

Richmond Remembrance Day
Location: Cenotaph located on the east side of Richmond City Hall (6911 No. 3 Rd, Richmond)
Date: November 11, 2025 parade at 10:20am, ceremony 10:40am
Details: For those wishing to reflect and remember with the community, there is an in-person Remembrance Day ceremony on Tuesday, November 11 at the cenotaph located on the east side of Richmond City Hall (6911 No. 3 Road).

New Westminster Remembrance Day
Location: City Hall Cenotaph (511 Royal Ave, New Westminster)
Date: November 11, 2025 from 10:25am to 11:30am
Details: Attend in person at the City Hall Cenotaph (511 Royal Avenue) starting at 10:25am. Watch the livestream coverage starting at 10:25 am on YouTube. A sign language interpreter will also be present at the service.

Port Coquitlam Remembers
Location: Veterans Park (2580 Shaughnessy St, Port Coquitlam)
Date: November 11, 2025 10:10am parade & service, 11:00am laying of wreaths
Details: The parade will proceed along Shaughnessy Street from Wilson Avenue to McAllister Avenue, beginning at 10:10am. A wreath-laying ceremony at the cenotaph in Veterans Park will follow, with remarks from Mayor Brad West, MP Ron McKinnon and MLA Mike Farnworth. Residents are encouraged to wear a poppy to show their respect. Poppies will be available at City facilities, with donations supporting the Legion Branch 133. Attendees may also place a poppy on the cenotaph at Veterans Park following the ceremony.

Coquitlam Remembrance Day Ceremony
Location: Blue Mountain Park (975 King Albert Ave, Coquitlam)
Date: November 11, 2025 at 10:30am
Details: Coquitlam’s traditional Remembrance Day ceremony and parade, hosted by the Coquitlam Royal Canadian Legion Branch 263, will be held on November 11th at 11:00am and anyone wishing to pay their respects is welcome. The parade will start at Como Lake Middle School (1121 King Albert Avenue) at approximately 10:30 a.m., concluding at the Blue Mountain Park Cenotaph (975 King Albert Street), where the ceremony will begin around 11:00am.

Surrey Remembers Ceremony

Date: November 11, 2025
Details: There will be a variety of observances and ceremonies at the following locations: Surrey Centre Cemetery (16670 60 Ave) at 10:45am; Veterans Square (17710 – 56A Ave) with procession at 10:00am; Crescent Legion (2643 128 St) with procession at 10:00am; Whalley Legion (10626 City Parkway); Port Kells Community Hall (18918 – 88 Ave); Newton Senior Centre (13775 – 70A Ave).

North Delta Social Heart Plaza Remembrance Day
Location: Social Heart Plaza (11405-11427 84 Ave, Delta)
Date: November 11, 2025 from 10:40am to 12:00pm
Details: The City of Delta, in partnership with the Kennedy Seniors Society, invites you and your family to attend the North Delta Remembrance Day Ceremony at Social Heart Plaza. This meaningful gathering brings together community members, veterans, service organizations, and youth groups to honour and reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who have defended Canada in acknowledgment of Veterans Week.

South Delta Remembrance Day Parade
Location: Memorial Park (5010 47 Ave Delta)
Date: November 11, 2024 from 10:40am
Details: Join the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 61, for Ladner’s annual Remembrance Day Parade and Ceremony. This meaningful event brings together Veterans, community members, the Delta Police Pipe Band, and local service organizations to honour and reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who have defended Canada. The parade will begin at 10:40am in front of the Royal Canadian Legion in Ladner Village and proceed to the Memorial Park Cenotaph.

Langley Remembrance Day
Location: Douglas Park Cenotaph (20550 Douglas Crescent, Langley)
Date: November 11, 2025 ceremony starts at 10:50am
Details: Langley City invites residents and visitors to gather at Douglas Park Cenotaph on Saturday, November 11, for the annual Remembrance Day ceremony. Together, we will observe a moment of silence at the eleventh hour to honour all who have served and sacrificed for our country. 

To get your poppy, visit a national Poppy Campaign partner from the last Friday of October until Remembrance Day, or contact your Legion Branch to find poppies near you.

BC Ferries, BC Transit and TransLink to Offer complimentary travel for Veterans

To thank retired and active military personnel for their service, veterans will be offered complimentary travel on Remembrance Day, Tuesday, November 11, by BC’s three major transportation agencies: BC Ferries, BC Transit and TransLink.

BC Ferries will observe two minutes of silence at 11:00am on vessels and terminals to honour the sacrifices made by veterans in the line of duty. BC Transit and TransLink encourage customers and staff to observe the traditional moment of silence at or near 11:00am across the system on November 11.

All Canadian flags on BC Ferries’ vessels and terminals will fly at half-mast on Remembrance Day. All buses will display “Lest We Forget” on the destination screen as will the screens of the ferries and terminals.

Travel on TransLink services will be free for veterans, members of the Armed Forces, police and fire departments, Coast Guard, BC Ambulance Paramedics, and Department of Fisheries and Oceans across all modes, including HandyDART and Canada Line-YVR AddFare.
