2025 Orange Shirt Design by KC Hall in Support of UNYA

by Rebecca Bollwitt

This year, the Orange Shirt Day campaign from Urban Native Youth Association (UNYA) honours the intergenerational strength of Indigenous families. The Every Child Matters design was created by artist KC Hall, in support and memory of the generations of Residential School Survivors.

2025 Orange Shirt in Support of UNYA

This is the fifth year MAKE has teamed up with KC Hall and UNYA.

“The design tells a story of hope, healing, and heritage. It captures a sacred moment where the past and the future meet: an elder, the keeper of ancestral knowledge, and a child, the embodiment of future potential. The child isn’t just receiving a blessing…they are an active participant, offering a feather, which represents their own connection to culture and truth. The relationship is key to strengthening community and ensuring that the promise of creating a future-where tradition is honoured, identity is celebrated, and the bond between generations provides the strength to thrive-is fulfilled.” – KC Hall, Heiltsuk Nation

Every shirt purchased and every donation made directly supports UNYA’s programs, providing Indigenous youth with safe spaces, cultural teachings, and opportunities to thrive. Since 2021, MAKE has donated over $100,000 to UNYA through t-shirt sales, and they are an official Orange Shirt Day reseller.

You can also make a direct donation to UNYA at any time.
