There are so many events happening around Metro Vancouver this summer it’s hard to only feature a few, but we’ve done our best to showcase a variety of festivals with incredibly cool culture, food, and music elements. Some are ticketed, and some are free. Whatever you’re looking for, bookmark this list and check back often to plan your amazing summer activities in the 604!

Indian Summer Festival

This years Indian Summer Festival theme is Borderless Solidarities. The festival curates arts, storytelling, and performances through a South Asian lens. The festival offers a variety of events offering talks, music, comedy, workshops and more. Catch events such as Tiffin Talk: Artist as Healer, A Raucous Evening with Kiran Deol, Indian Summer Sounds, and much more.
Carnaval Del Sol
- When: July 11, 12, & 13, 2025
- Where: Jonathan Rogers Park (110 W 7th Ave, Vancouver)

Carnaval Del Sol is back this summer to shine a spotlight on the energy, resilience, and joy of Latin communities by connecting people though the universal languages of music, movement, and shared passion. Celebrate with 10 different plazas, each with its own theme like the Family, Sports, Artisans, and more! Be sure to check out the Food Plaza offering delicious food from 12 Latin countries.

Vancouver Chinatown Festival
- When: July 12 & 13, 2025
- Where: Keefer and Columbia St, Vancouver

Vancouver Chinatown Festival-goers can look forward to tons of entertainment, culinary options, cultural experiences, community activities, and more. The main stage will feature a range of performances throughout the weekend including music, dance, and cultural showcases. Sponsored by Miss604.
This year, the Children’s Theatre will feature interactive shows and activities tailored for families with appearances by Barbie and Ken, Elsa and Anna, and magician Blake Aleong. Don’t miss the Cultural Zone and checkout the Artisans Market for a curated collection of local makers and food vendors.
Taiwanese Canadian Cultural Festival in Surrey
- When: July 12 & 13, 2025 from 12:00pm to 6:00pm
- Where: Surrey City Hall (13450 104 Ave, Surrey)
- Admission: Exhibitions & Workshops are free. Concert Passes are $5.
Join a 2 day celebration of Taiwanese music, dance, food, art, and heritage right in the heart of Surrey at the Taiwanese Canadian Cultural Festival. This family-friendly event brings dynamic performances and hands-on cultural experiences, offering something for all ages and interests. Catch performances by headliners Lovedancing Group and 3PeopleMusic (from Taiwan).
Festivibe
- When: July 13, 2025 from 12:00pm to 10:00pm
- Where: The Shipyards, North Vancouver
- Admission: Free
Expect a full day of performances, international food, stunning views, and so much more at Festivibe 2025. This free, multicultural celebration of community, culture, and creativity brings life to The Shipyards with music and dance, an international food market, vibrant beer garden at Cates Deck, and a dedicated Kids Zone (ticketed area) with crafting, bouncy castles, face painting, and more! Vancouver Folk Music Festival
- When: July 18, 19, & 20, 2025

The Vancouver Folk Music Festival features three full days of 32 performances and 12 collaborative artists workshops alongside a complete main stage lineup! The festival celebrates contemporary folk music with artists from local scenes and from across the globe. The full lineup is available online.
Surrey Fusion Festival
- When: July 19 & 20, 2025
- Where: Holland Park (13428 Old Yale Rd, Surrey)

Discover over 50 cultural pavilions run by cultural groups and organizations within the Lower Mainland! Each pavilion presents authentic food and art for attendees to enjoy and learn from. This years pavilions include Canada, India, Columbia, Jamaica, and many more. Each pavilion features its on menu of delicious cultural treats to choose from.

Fort Langley Jazz Arts Festival

Experience the sounds of live jazz and blues, visual arts, and indigenous culture at Fort Langley Jazz Arts Festival! Experience 2 days (July 26 & 27) of free, world-class jazz featuring local and youth performers on three outdoor stages plus an Arts & Cultural Zone showcasing Indigenous arts, culture, demonstrations, and workshops. The Jazz Arts Festival also offers ticketed concerts showcasing internationally acclaimed artists at the matinee and evening band shows, a Motown show, the Cool Blues Show, and more.
Mission Folk Music Festival

“Find Your Folk” at the 38th Mission Folk Festival, featuring a lineup of artists set to play folk songs, blues riffs, Celtic tunes, Americana sounds, global rhythms, and much more all weekend long. Caribbean Days Festival
- When: July 26 & 27, 2025
- Where: Town Centre Park (1299 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam)

Caribbean Days Festival has a full slate of stage entertainers presenting music and dance! Check out the festival’s Parade in The Park, enjoy food and drinks from Trinidad, Jamaica, Barbados, and other tropical locations, and shop in the craft market for homemade jewellery, clothing, and trinkets.
Harmony Arts Festival
- When: August 1-10, 2025
- Where: Millennium Park (1564 Argyle Ave, West Vancouver)

The West Vancouver Harmony Arts Festival offers celebration of visual and culinary art in the West Vancouver community with an art market and lineup of free live music.
Powell Street Festival
- When: August 2 & 3, 2025 from 11:30am to 7:00pm
- Where: Oppenheimer Park (Powell Street Area)
- Admission: Free
One largest and longest-running community arts festivals in Canada, Powell Street Festival is back for it’s 49th annual cultural celebration. Located in Vancouver’s historic Japanese Canadian neighbourhood, Paueru Gai (known today as the Downtown Eastside), the Powell Street Festival program is full of free events focused on cultural learning and celebration. Check out the community booths, food booths, and crafting marketplace for local shopping!
White Rock Sea Festival & Semiahmoo Days
- When: August 2 & 3, 2025
- Where: Memorial Park, East Beach & Semiahmoo Park
- Admission: Free
The 74th annual White Rock Sea Festival and Semiahmoo Days will have free family-fun and entertainment for all ages. The event features kid-friendly activities and live music, an outdoor movie, the return of the Torchlight Parade (Saturday), and a fireworks finale (Sunday).
Davie Village Pride Festival
- When: August 3, 2025 from 2:00pm to 10:00pm
- Where: Davie Street (from Burrard to Jarvis) and Nelson Park, Vancouver
- Admission: Free
Davie Village Pride Festival is back as the culmination of the Vancouver Pride Parade, which is reversing its route this year. After a six-year break, live music, drag performances, DJ sets, and entertainers return to celebrate in the heart of Vancouver’s 2SLGBTQIA+ community. This high-energy, inclusive festival features licensed lounges, extended patios, and local businesses open for celebration.
The event also stretches to Nelson Park (the historic starting point of Vancouver’s very first Pride Parade in 1981), offering all-ages programming with ASL interpretation from 2:00pm to 9:00pm. Join in button pressing, colouring, and ribbon making and check out queer artisans and community resources. The stage in the park will feature music from local queer bands!
KitsFest
- When: August 7-10, 2025
- Where: Kitsilano Beach, Vancouver
- Admission: Free. Register your team online.
Kits Fest celebrates arts and sports with games and activities for all! Join in games like spikeball, chess, water polo, basketball, volleyball and more (registration for games is recommended). As KitsFest celebrates their 17th anniversary, the RedZone Flag Football Championship is back on August 9 and 10 for games of touch football! With special guests appearances from the BC Lion and Seattle Seahawks. In addition to the championship matches, there will also be clinic and workshops led by football coaches so participants can refine their technique, learn strategies, and gain insight from the experts.

Burnaby Blues + Roots Festival

BC Dumpling Festival
- When: August 9, 2025
- Where: Town Centre Park, Coquitlam
- Admission: Free
The delicious BC Dumpling Festival returns to Town Centre Park in Coquitlam, celebrating our diverse community and bringing together families, friends, neighbours, community organizations and businesses from different cultures to share food, entertainment and laughter. It is a family-friendly event that will showcase dumplings from different cultures.
African Descent Festival
- When: August 9 & 10, 2025
- Where: English Bay Beach
- Admission: Free
The only summer festival right on English Bay Beach! The African Descent Festival aims to rejuvenate the heritage for the people of African Descent in Vancouver, British Columbia and Canada. Enjoy a two day showcase of music that is accessible for all! This year’s theme is a tribute to Joe Fortes. Performers include Awild Longombal, Madba, Awilo Longomba, Mostley Marley, Safi Madiba, Alex Kajumulo Band, Julio Cuban Band, Dj& Afro Canadian Dancing Group (ACD), Dj Sanchez Cuba, and more.
Richmond Maritime Festival
- When: August 23 & 24, 2025 from 11:00am to 6:00pm
- Where: Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site (5180 Westwater Dr, Richmond)

Richmond’s annual celebration of local maritime heritage, Richmond Maritime Festival, returns to Britannia Shipyards this August. Enjoy a weekend of cultural performances, displays, activities, and demonstrations. Explore the waterfront and collection of visiting wooden boats and maritime vessels on the docks in Richmond.
Vancouver Vegan Festival

The Vancouver Vegan Festival is going back to the beach presenting a free, family-friendly, dog-friendly event featuring dozens of food, drink, and wellness vendors, a sustainable market, and more.
Barnside Harvest Festival
- When: September 12-14, 2025

Barnside Harvest Festival is Metro Vancouver’s largest 3-day long music festival! This years headliners are Walk off The Earth, Arkells, and The Dead South. Shop local at the Artisan Market, celebrate our region’s farming legacy at the Delta Heritage Pavilion, play games in the Family Zone, and much more!
North Shore Kids Fest
- When: September 14, 2025 from 12:00pm to 6:00pm
- Where: 125 Victory Ship Way, North Vancouver
- Admission: Free
Kids take the centre stage at North Shore Kids Fest! Entertaining performances, hands-on activities, and so much more, this festival is all about celebrating childhood joy, creativity, and community spirit. No matter what your kid likes, there’s something magical for everyone (including parents)!
Checkout live performances from local youth programs, hands-on crafting stations, games and interactive activities, and food trucks and sweet treats. New this year, the youth entrepreneur showcase, a second stage for rising stars to show off their talents, and a quiet zone for recharging. There’s also a Kids Zone Playground (ticketed area) featuring face painting, hair and makeup, bouncy castle, yoga, arts and crafting, and more.
