Kids and teens are welcome to take part in a variety of programs and activities at various Vancouver Public Library locations. Programs include animation and drawing with Anita Bhati, story time, family movie nights, Minecraft themed activities, a Dog Man party, Lego building, family board game time, and much more. Stop by the Steveston Tram Museum this spring break and take a trip back in time. Find the Tram Conductor and ask for an activity sheet to help you explore the exhibits and interactive displays about Richmond’s rich transportation history. Discover fun facts about the trams that ran between Steveston and Vancouver for over 50 years. Follow the clues to find Hamm, the mischievous travelling passenger as he hides in and around Tram Car 1220.

Explore how homes and businesses used to look, see how different cultures help shape our community and learn from Indigenous educators at Burnaby Village Museum. This years theme highlights how Nowruz New year is celebrated by Burnaby’s Afghan community. Special activities include daily storytime at the Indigenous Leaning House, Mahjong on Fridays, Heritage Games on Thursdays, and more. Daily activities include Table Tennis, Coffee Grinding, and Ruby’s Lunch. Don’t forget to pick up a clue sheet from the main or carousel entrance.

Explore the woods, experience new animals and learn about Surrey Parks during the Drop in Spring Break: Intro the Woods event at Museum of Surrey. Visit vendors tables, make a craft and do a forest-themed scavenger hunt. On March 18, enjoy a presentation by the Northern Spotted Owl Breeding Program. Meet Dr. Recycle and make a cool animal out of recyclable materials. Learn about Surrey’s parks and protecting your local parks with presentations by Surrey Youth Stewardship Squad. Listen to presentations by SHaRP and learn about Surrey’s rivers and Salmon habitats and Parks Canada.

This Spring Break, get ready for an all-new adventure at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site with the Spring Break Salmon Run! Every year, Pacific salmon brave the challenges of the West Coast’s waters to return to the homes where they were born, where they will lay eggs of their own and restart the salmon lifecycle. For a limited time only, take the place of the salmon and complete your own journey up and down the Cannery, facing series of salmon-themed activities, and return triumphant to your home stream. Visitors who complete all of the Cannery’s challenges will receive an exclusive prize connected to the theme of the salmon lifecycle.

Get ready for an exciting spring break adventure at Fort Langley National Historic Site with Wild Wonders: Discover Nature and Animals. Daily activities include Parka the Beaver Scavenger Hunt, Fort Talks, connect with Nature Helpers and learn about nature. Special events include community presenters, who will teach on various subjects. Presenters include; Stanley Park Ecology Society, Maple Creek Streamkeepers, Invasive Species Council of Metro Vancouver, Kwantlen Elder Karen Gabriel, and more.
