Family-Friendly New Year’s Eve Activities
Robson Square Ice Rink: Enjoy live entertainment on December 31 from DJ-El-Niño from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The rink will be open for skating from 9:00am to 9:00pm New Year’s Eve. Free to skate, rentals are $5.
Christmas at Canada Place: Open from 8:00am to 10:00pm, enjoy light displays, Avenue of Trees, the Woodward’s Window, and more on New Year’s Eve. Note: There are NO fireworks.
Burnaby Village Museum: Heritage Christmas is a free attraction featuring light displays across the 10-acre site open 1:00pm to 9:00pm on New Year’s Eve.
Grouse Mountain: Enjoy the end of the year on the slopes, take a stroll through the outdoor Light Walk, go on a free snowshoe tour, or watch a spectacular fireworks display at the Skating Pond with a live DJ.
The Skate Plaza: The Shipyards Skate Plaza is open on New Year’s Eve for a free public skate from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Skate rentals are available in limited quantities for $7 per adult and $5 per child.
Holiday Splash: The Vancouver Aquarium will be open for with the Holiday Splash event on December 31, 2024 from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
Lights at Lafarge: No special events for New Year’s Eve have been announced but this outdoor light walk (1.2km around the lake) will keep you in the festive spirit.
Festival of Lights: Visit VanDusen Botanical Garden on December 31, 2024 from 4:00pm to 10:00pm and explore 15 acres of holiday lights.
Bright Nights: Stanley Park Bright Nights is open from 4:00pm to 10:00pm on New Year’s Eve featuring holiday lights displays and treat vendors. Note: the Stanley Park train is closed until further notice.
Winter Wonderland Skate: Minoru Arena in Richmond is open New Year’s Eve from 10:00am to 4:00pm for a festive family-friendly skate under a canopy of lights.
Winter Ice Palace: Cloverdale Arena transforms into a winter wonderland with festive lights twinkling, seasonal decorations everywhere you look and lively music filling the air. Open December 31st with skate sessions between 9:30am and 5:00pm.
