Vancouver Sign in Coal Harbour
byThe big red Vancouver sign, illuminated by lightbulbs and placed in a scenic location in the city, is back for another year. This time, it’s moved from between Canada Place and the Vancouver Convention Centre down to the Coal Harbour Seawall.
We stopped by on Tuesday this week when it was being installed:
Vancouver Sign in Coal Harbour
You can find the sign where the Seawall meets the steps that come down from Jack Poole Plaza, by Cactus Club. On the right you’ll see the seaplane base, and if you keep going to the left there’s the Komagata Maru monument and Harbour Green Park.
While you won’t have cruise ships in the background like last year, there is a nice backdrop of Stanley Park, the harbour, and the North Shore mountains.
The temporary sign was first installed last year during Liven Up Coal Harbour in December, a free holiday activation between the Westin and the Convention Centre that had several installations. There’s no word yet on how long this sign will be setup.
If you stop by, tag your photos with @Miss604 on social media, we’d love to see them!
