  • When: September 16th and September 25th
  • Where: Three Gringo locations – see details here
  • Details: This September, Gringo is celebrating some delicious national days. On September 16th, in honor of National Guacamole Day, they’re offering the special Guac Chippy Dippy for just $7. Then, on September 25th, for National Quesadilla Day, all Dillas will be priced at $10, with the Austin Dilla available for $12. Additionally, Gringo is launching online ordering for takeout at their North Van location starting September 3rd.
Emily in Paris Season 4 Pop-Up Dinner

Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts

  • When: Various events throughout the month of September
  • Where:  1505 W 2nd Ave. #101, Vancouver
  • Details: The Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts is hosting a series of special “Emily in Paris” events. On Saturday, September 14th, there’s a Cooking Class from 10:00am – 2:00pm for $225. Following that, on Thursday, September 19th, is the Emily in Paris Dinner from 6:00pm – 9:00pm for $139. Additionally, there’s an Emily in Paris Dessert & Pastry Class on September 28th from 10:00am – 2:00pm for $195.  Additionally, over at the Blue Hat Bakery-Café, Pumpkin Spice Lattes are back starting September 10th through November 30th, with other pumpkin-themed treats coming soon.

Shipyards Walking Food Tour

  • When: 7 days a week, 2:00pm – 5:00pm
  • Where: Starting at Waterfront Station, main hall, 601 West Cordova St., North Vancouver
  • Details: Grab a your foodie friends and head to the historic Shipyards District for a brand new walking food tour. Your tour guide will take you on 9 stops, 6 food tastings & 2 alcoholic tastings (non-alcoholic options available); including, stories about Vancouver’s early settlers and a diverse variety of food and vendors. Mooncakes at Beaucoup Bakery Until September 22nd

  • Where: 2150 Fir St., Vancouver or St Regis Hotel, 602 Dunsmuir St., Vancouver
  • Details: A favourite spot of our readers, Beaucoup Bakery, is launching its new La Lune Collection, featuring pastry chef and co-owner Betty Hung’s signature mooncakes and classic Cantonese-style mooncakes. The mooncakes are in celebration of the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival. The collection, which also includes a decadent chocolate chestnut cake, is available for pre-orders online now for pick-up at both its Fir Street and Dunsmuir Street locations until September 22nd, 2024. The Mooncake Maison is $28 for a box of three sablé crust mooncakes and the Mooncake Classique is $38 for a box of four Cantonese-style mooncakes. Pre-order here.

Fairmont Welcomes Fall with Autumn Harvest Tea

  • When: Dates, September 5th – November 24, 2024. Days, Wednesday – Sunday (and Statutory holiday Mondays). Seatings, 11:00am, 1:00pm, 3:00pm
  • Where: Fairmont Hotel Vancouver
  • Details: Hosted in the Notch8 Restaurant, this year’s Autumn Harvest Afternoon Tea is led by Head Chef Kay Noh. Guests can enjoy menu items such as a Kabocha Squash Tartlet with vadouvan saffron apple puree and toasted coconut, Smoked Steelhead with yuzu tobiko and Serrano Ham Reserva with pickled mustard seeds and coffee aioli on brioche. The hotel’s pastry team led by Chef Eric Fernandez, has worked hard on a set selection of desserts including a Salted Caramel Apple Pie Bar, Pumpkin Tiramisu and a Cranberry Cheesecake Brownie. Skye Avenue Kitchen & Lounge Japanese Whiskey

  • When: Wednesday, September 11th starting at 5:00pm
  • Where: 13450 102 Ave. #190, Surrey
  • Details: On Wednesday, September 11th starting at 5:00pm, Japanese Whisky gets its moment in the spotlight at Skye during a one-night-only bar takeover by international bartender and brand ambassador Yuki Yamazaki, who will pull a guest shift behind the bar and showcase a limited-edition Kujira Inari whisky made from rice. Yamazaki is also the owner of The Japanese Bitters — the world’s first aromatic bitters produced in and incorporating ingredients from Japan. More info about their impress whisky collection here.

WA-BAGEL’s 1st Anniversary Limited-Edition Flavours

  • When: Available September 16 to 27, 2024
  • Where: 666 Burrard Street, Vancouver
  • Details: To celebrate their first anniversary, the Tokyo-meets-New York concept is launching three limited-edition flavours – Triple Matcha, Ube Mochi, and the savoury Spinach & Feta. Guests will also receive a special WA-BAGEL tote bag with each bundle purchase (while supplies last).

Saan Saan Cafe, Nostalgic Hong Kong-Inspired Cuisine

  • When: Soft Openings on weekends now, Friday-Sunday 10:00am – 4:00pm
  • Where: 227 Main St., Vancouver
  • Details: Saan Saan is a brand a new cafe, offering nostalgic and all gluten-free Hong Kong-inspired food. Founded by siblings Eric, Sarena, and Jamie Siu, Saan Saan (named in honour of their mother) is a testament to their shared love of food and family traditions. The cafe space occupies the first floor of a 1904 home, which belonged to their grandparents since the early 1950s. Also designed with their grandparents upstairs apartment and Cantonese traditions in mind, it is a really special space.
    • Menu Details: They are currently focusing on a “Weekend Coffee Shop” concept from Friday to Sunday, featuring baked goods such as the BBQ Pork Turnover, Mushroom Turnover, Apple Turnover, Pineapple Coconut Cookie and a Milk Tea Mochi Brownie. The cafe serves coffee drinks using beans from Agro Roasters, tea drinks like Hong Kong Milk Tea, Yuenyeung (a mix of coffee and tea), Iced Shaken Oolong and mocktails made from cold-brewed tea sourced from Treasure Green Tea Company in Chinatown. An expanded menu will be revealed later in the fall.
