The viewing area will be set up in the north end of the park at Oak Street and W 37th Avenue, with enough room for 2,000 people to bring a blanket and settle in to watch the action on a big screen. Porta potties will be available and sanitation services will be increased to maintain a clean, usable park space for everyone.
Select community centres across the city will be showing the games in their lobbies, giving locals the chance to gather with their neighbours through the playoffs.
An additional viewing area may be added for future rounds, depending on interest. The City is also planning an outdoor licensed public viewing experience for home and away games at the PNE starting in Round 3, with capacity for 6,000 fans.
In Burnaby, there will be a family-friendly playoff viewing party Rosemary Brown Recreation Centre, located at 7789 18th Street in South Burnaby.
Road Closures and Advisories
Pat Quinn Way will be closed on gamedays to allow more room for pre-game festivities on the plaza.
Various road closures will be in effect on game days with traffic disruptions anticipated for those travelling in and out of downtown. Taking transit, walking or cycling are the best options to get around town on game days. Plan ahead and allow for extra time to get to where you need to go – especially near Rogers Arena.
For game one in Vancouver, please be advised that earlier in the day, various road closures will be in effect downtown from 5:00am to noon for the Vancouver Sun Run, including a full closure of Georgia St from the Causeway to Pender St (8:00am to 11:00am) and Pacific Ave from Jervis St to Hornby St (8:00am to 11:30am).
