The 38,000 square-foot space will be the 19th Decathlon location in Canada, expanding the brand’s footprint from coast-to-coast across the country. The newest flagship store will offer a wide selection of sporting goods alongside knowledgeable in-store experts.
Opening April 27, 2024, Decathlon at Metrotown is 2 storeys of sporting goods. The space features zones that highlights specific sports, with a focus on Vancouver staples such as hiking, camping and trekking. Local winter sports including skiing and snowboarding. Cycling and mountain biking in urban mobility and a water sports section. Decathlon features a year-round hiking and camping showroom, cycling showroom, play zones for table tennis, and workshop for tune-up and bike repairs. On display is a Vancouver-inspired mural painted by local artist Andrew McGuire celebrating athletes.
Founded in 1976 in France, Decathlon has over 1,700 stores in over 60 countries. It designs, manufactures, tests, and sells apparel and equipment for a variety of sports and outdoor activities. Along with sought-after products, Decathlon attracts a following for delivering well-rounded shopping experiences that include in-store gyms, product test area, and in-person and online technical services.
Pop-Up Opening in October
Monday to Saturday from 10:00am to 9:00pm; Sunday 11:00am to 7:00pm
Those eager to shop can visit a pop-up opening October 28th across from the Muji store at Metropolis at Metrotown. Here you can shop a wide selection of products and sporting goods, and browse a selection of affordable rain jackets, ski and snowboarding gear. They also haves waterproof hiking shoes and other waterproof accessories just in time for the fall and winter seasons.
Other products that will be featured at the pop-up store include trekking and multi-purpose backpacks, road running and trail running shoes, swimwear and other water sport accessories, as well as a dedicated space for road, mountain and hybrid bikes.
Don’t miss out on entering an exciting giveaway at the pop-up as well. This temporary location will be in place until the store’s opening in the spring.
