One of the world’s top destination marathons, the BMO Vancouver Marathon features 70% shoreline views and a stunning tour through twelve of the city’s most iconic neighbourhoods, while the fast Half Marathon kicks off with an epic downhill start overlooking Vancouver’s iconic city skyline.

When: Sunday, May 7, 2023 8:30am
Where: The Marathon and Half Marathon start near Queen Elizabeth Park and finish in Downtown Vancouver. Each race distance offers a uniquely scenic experience. The 8KM starts within Stanley Park on Lagoon Drive.
Featuring a Marathon, Half Marathon, 8KM, and Kids Run, all courses offer stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, towering forests, iconic landmarks, and traditionally run through world-renowned Stanley Park towards an energized downtown Finish Line.

Race routes will impact traffic on Saturday, May 6, 2023, in Vancouver’s Riley Park, Coal Harbour and Downtown area, and on Sunday, May 7, 2023, in Riley Park, South Cambie, Oakridge, Fairview, Kerrisdale, Dunbar, UBC, Point Grey, Kitsilano, West End, Coal Harbour, Chinatown, Yaletown, Cambie, False Creek and Downtown neighbourhoods.

Free Expo
The Health, Sports & Lifestyle Expo is a two-day extravaganza of excitement and celebration that kicks off Marathon weekend in Canada’s most active city. Located at the stunning Vancouver Convention Centre (Canada Place/Convention Centre East) along the waterfront, the event is free and open to all. Meet lots of great vendors featuring the latest fitness gear, health and performance tips, and taste-test a vast array of free samples. Experience energizing activations and displays from top lifestyle and running brands. Expo runs race week only Friday, May 5th from 11:00am to 7:00pm and Saturday, May 6th from 10:00am to 5:00pm.
About the Marathon
Vancouver’s only Marathon started in 1972 when Tom Howard of Surrey led a handful of marathon runners around five loops of Stanley Park to complete the first “British Columbia Marathon.” Now, the BMO Vancouver Marathon has grown into one of Canada’s greatest running events with races for everyone including a Marathon, Half Marathon, 8KM and Kids Run.
