From art and cooking, to CSI crime solving and bike riding, there are some really fun Spring Break Day Camps around Metro Vancouver. If you have some time off with the kids this month, here are some fun activities the whole family can enjoy together:

: This Spring Break, families will have the opportunity to connect with interdisciplinary artistic practices through a variety of art-making activities, inspired by the materials, processes and ideas at work in the Gallery’s current exhibitions. The Gallery becomes a space of exploration and active collaboration, where visitors can explore their questions, ideas and responses to the artworks on display through Artist Workshops, led by local artists and art educators; engaging in-gallery activities with the Gallery team of experienced Art Agents; and art-making activities in The Making Place.

Details: It’s time to delve into the beautiful world of biodiversity as the leaves begin to unfurl outside, and the Beaty has everything you need here at the museum. Join them this Spring Break for a different hands-on activity every day, brought to you by volunteers, staff, curators, and special guests. From identifying incredible insects to art, games, crafts, and activities, you’ll be a biodiversity pro in no time. Details: Activities include a family-friendly scavenger hunt that explores the whole site. Dressing up and photos are part of the fun; Discover the social history of Britannia. Unique historical artefacts, colouring sheets, and activities inside the A-to-Z Building; Arts and crafts. Design your own copper queen crown; Hands-on experience with Earth Sciences including minerals and siesmology; Grow your own mining company with our popular Stakeholders game. Will you be able to do right by your community, workers and the environment? Suitable for ages 10+.

Old Fashioned Activities at Fort Langley
Where:
Fort Langley National Historic Site (23433 Mavis Avenue, Fort Langley)

Scheduled Activities
Guided tours: 11:00am, 1:00pm, 3:00pm
Blacksmithing: Noon, 2:00pm
Admission: $7.80 per adult, $6.55 per senior, and free for youth 17 and under. Fort Langley annual pass holders and Parks Canada Discovery Pass holders also get free entry. 
Details: Join great old-fashioned activities during spring break. Start your visit in the Visitor Centre where you’ll have the option of picking up our audio tour; or watching the orientation video.

Explore the fort: As you explore the site, discover the roots of this 1827 Hudson’s Bay Company fur trade post where British Columbia was proclaimed. Find out how Fort Langley influenced the course of Canada’s history. Climb the rustic bastion towers, and enjoy a peaceful view of the Fraser River.

Family activities: Families can participate in the Parks Canada Xplorers program, packed with fun activities. Pan for gold (when the weather is mild), build the walls of the playhouse and let your imaginations run free in our Children’s Play Area.
